Dine in the restaurant for a full, hot breakfast after waking up in your fine, big bed and taking a shower in your bathroom host to beautiful fixtures. All the rooms at A&O Hotel und Hostel Berlin Mitte offer large windows, lots of sunlight, and a cool inoffensive appearance. Take advantage of the internet access and the hotel reception's knowledge. Let them recommend you nice places to eat in the area, excellent pubs, and thriving nightlife spots. In the evenings, head over to the hotels wooded little pub area for warm conversation and a crisp nightcap. Not bad, considering you're paying much less than most hotels of this stature in Berlin.

Terrible experience
We are a group family looking for a pleasure and quiet stay. Despite some bad reviews, we still give it a try. And regretfully, all the bad review is correct. Our first day begins with all the blank bed without cover sheet and blanket sheet and we need to do it by ourselves even though we have to pay 10 Euro/person for "the bedding preparation" and 40 euro for "cleaning fee". Including there are no towels in the room, we have to come to ask and get a reply "come back and check it more carefully" without an instruction where they put it. The second day, we are cooking and the stove is out of order. We reached out to ask for help because the place is very far from the center and difficult to eat out. Eventually, the staff said "we called but not sure when the fixer come, so wait". After that, we wait until midnight and the morning after with leaving all the fresh food we bought in the kitchen. It was so terrible that in the morning when we about to check out, the stove fixer still not come or none of staff comes to ask if the stove is fixed and on leave they charge us more 100 Euro. In general, we do not recommend this place for anyone. And wach out the super extra charge if you take this apartment.

Big hostel, ok price, bad location

Many tourists, big rooms
The location is not good, from Berlin Train Station you have to take metro twice since you need to change the line once. There're no bus stations near the hostel so you need to walk at least 5 mins from bus station or 10 mins from metro to get there. No towel offered, just 1 elevator in such a huge building. Also quite loud at nights, since there're many tourists staying in this hostel and sometimes they get drunk. No wifi in rooms, need to go down the lounge to use it. If you're thinking of paying for the breakfast in the hostel, which is 7 euros I think, I recommend you to go out and there's cafe called "Le Vent" right across the hostel, where you can have a very decent breakfast for 5.90 euros. Stayed for 3 nights and the last night, there was just me in 6 mixed dormitory.

Convenient and good hostel

Close to train station, friendly staff, relatively quiet
Eventually I had only myself in the 6-bed dorm for 2 nights, so I don't want to comment much about the room. Anyway like the AO in Dresden, the room has everything for a traveller's need. The location is just 8min walk or 1 stop by bus from Berlin Ostbahnhof, which is very convenient. Overall I recommend to stay there.

Washer/ dryer on site, good breakfast, friendly people
The room was clean but hot with the window closed. Unfortunately very loud if open and a lot of flying bugs come in.

Convenient and economic hostel

Clean, close to city center
The area looks a little uninhabited, but it's easy to arrive by subway. The whole building is very clean. The staff is not the frendliest, but correct.

AO hotel Mitte

Information, helpful staff
AO Mitte Hotel is really an expensive hostel. It is noisy, crowded and the lifts are slow. I checked after one day and found a much nicer place to stay in a more convenient location, with breakfast included and free internet. The AO hostels do a lot of advertising and perhaps the hostel side is value for money but the hotel-style rooms seemed overpriced. I would not recommend it.
