Wonderful stay just really bad staff service
Bought 2 accommodations stay in Adaaran - one a normal resort and the other a water bungalows. There were staff who know and understand English just that I do not understand why they place a staff who have problem understanding English over the call centre where I had a hard time conveying my massage to them prior to my stay there. Which result in me having to email to them instead. To make matter worst, the front of house who mainly lead by Mr Chandara who seem having problem replying my emails, as well as getting my message correctly. During my stay, I was also being accused of taking 2 bottle of beer from the in-room cocktail bar which I questioned why should I even get another paid beer in the room when I paid full-board(all inclusive) which I have access to free cocktails at the bar? Also, is funny how they didn't go through the checklist with me and simply just accused me for taking the beer when I am about the check out. However, all being said, I have to compliment the overall management of Adaaran, not the one managing Rannalhi but Adaaran as a whole - in particularly one Sandrene Fernando who manage the social media communication. I have a pleasant time dealing with him/her over from facebook. Speedy response, good understanding of my need as well as excellent follow-up when this particular person is not even managing Adarran Rannalhi. Please give this person a promotion - really! That is the real customer service and excellence as compared to what I received on my actual stay on the island. Overall, the rooms are clean which really makes a good night stay. I will definitely be back for Adaaran - and solely because the excellent service I received off-hand rather than that of what I got from the island.

Beautiful location
The property is nice but the location is superb. We took the water villas and the best part of our trip was that we could just jump in the crystal clear water and start snorkelling. The food was also quite lavish but bit repetitive. The only drawback was that they had no doctor onboard incase anyone has an emergency. Its a secluded island so in an emergency they won't know what to do.

First night they gave us the room at 2nd floor even we booked the beach villa and very hard to change our room to 1st floor and usuallly there is the space to see the fish and sea from the floor but the room they provideds doesnt have such.

Good but not great
Near-ish to Male Airport, Good Snorkeling, Friendly Dive Shop
By far my favorite part of this resort was the dive shop staff. I think they did a great job to do as much as they can to make sure you enjoy your dives and do it safely. Other points about the resort: I saw a lot of mixed reviews and I'd say that for the most part that is about accurate. -The buffets were actually better than I was expecting so was pleasantly surprised. -There is no pool which is brought up over and over in other reviews, I think the resort would be smart to install one somewhere in the center of the island (it's all currently close off to staff only) or on a part of the one very wide beach they have. The ocean water, while 27 degrees C, still feels very cold, plus the current is strong so between the water temp, current, and sharp coral fragments all over the place, it's actually not so pleasant to swim here... normally when there is a good beach I mostly ignore the pool, but this resort needs one (a big one). -Rooms are pretty dated -All Inclusive drinks are very limited. I typically drink beer anyway so no big deal. Basic mixers were included but the liquor used was horrible quality. Proper cocktails weren't cheap. They had one Happy Hour special every night but it was still 2 for 1 ($11), I think they could have offered the Happy Hour special of the day to all-inclusive guests complementary during the limited hours of the 2 for 1. -Paid WiFi? Isn't that a thing of the past? I bought a SIM card with 5GB of data and excellent download speeds from Dhiraagu for $35. Your WiFi rates and speeds are absurd! Overall the resort is good but not great (with the exception of the dive shop staff). We ended up going here because of a last minute change in plans. Everywhere else near this price bracket was already full by this point (for week between Christmas and New Years, had to book early December). If someone isn't going during a major holiday week and can plan ahead then you could get a much better resort for a similar overall cost.
