Nice resort but bad customer service
Value for money, location, ease of stay
I came to Adaaran from Maafushi where i stayed at another guest house. Adaaran Rannalhi is a very nice resort with beautiful scenery and nice water villas. Just be sure to be in contact with them if you are making your own way there from another location to discuss on pricing and arrangement of transfers etc(cause it is compulsory to take it from Male airport)However for me, i managed to make my own transfer from Maafushi to Rannalhi and did not have to go back to Male on my own.(cause it was a friday and it is very difficult for me to get back to Male as there are no Dhonis). please be sure to print out the email correspondence though as i was lucky i did as the special arrangements i made was not communicated to the resort. If you are staying at this resort only, then well worth the money for transfers as the pick up is from Male airport to the resort and back. The room was clean and everything worked well. The staff is efficient and when you leave the room for meals and such, it will be clean and arranged when you get back. There was no faults in the room and everything worked well. 1 main issue i have with the resort is that the front house staff is not very friendly and on the whole, the whole resort is not very service orientated. Not 1 staff offered to carry my bags and not many made a point to help me with any issues i had. It you expect 5 star service with all staff chirping in with a 'Good morning,Sir/Ma'am' this is definitely not the place. On the whole, i didn't mind the bad service and didn't let it bother me too much and just treated like a self service kind of holiday. If you are like me and wouldn't mind, this resort is great enough. It is very cheap and very beautiful.

Great sea for snorkle, arrogant front desk staffs

Stay away. Unfortunately we were given the second floor water villa (no water access) although we paid the same as normal water villa rate. We asked to change but there were no other rooms available according to front desk. But what pisses off the most was the attitude of the front desk. Seems like not only one or two, every single one of the front desk were arrogant and tend to play and twist with circumstances. Really ruined our once in a life time journey which costed us a lot. So unless those arrogant front desk completely change, other travelers should stay away unless you want throw money off the ocean and be there to be pissed off by irritating front desk after a long flight and boat ride.

First night they gave us the room at 2nd floor even we booked the beach villa and very hard to change our room to 1st floor and usuallly there is the space to see the fish and sea from the floor but the room they provideds doesnt have such.

great getaway
friendly bar and restaurant staff
great and fantastic but one unpleasant experience i learnt that a glass bottom room was assigned to us but due to some haggling n table banging by one big middle country resident room was aceded to them while i was in the restaurant. staff at front attitude need to improve to the level of bar and restaurant staffs which are enthusiastic n friendly. they decide to gave me a change of room to glass bottom the next day but i decide not to pick it up after viewing the room which is rather old ang gloomy

The view and sea, snorkelling and marine life, affordable pricing
Service staff needs to be friendlier, especially at the reception. Luckily, the view and snorkelling is worth bearing with the lukewarm service.
