Le Metropole Hotel Alexandria Info
Serving visitors to Egypt since 1902, the site of the hotel was once home to Cleopatra's Needle, ancient obelisks that now stand in London and New York City. The hotel is one of the oldest in Alexandria, still a wonderful example of 18th century architecture. The hotel is just one kilometer from the city center and within walking distance of the nearest Metro station. It offers easy access to the beach and the nightlife of Alexandria. The on-site Ambassadeurs Hall is one of the city's finest restaurants and French cuisine is served at Versailles Hall. History buffs will love this hotel, a testament to the rich history of this Egyptian city.

Quaint, great customer service, location perfect. When we arrived at the hotel, the reception was excellent. The registration was effortless and everyone was very accommodating. We were early and were able to check in anyway and was served a welcome treat of tea, fruit drinks and pastries.
We checked into the room with assistance from the bellhop with our luggage and extra soap, towels and an iron were provided.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We were close to shopping and the catacombs as well as right on the Mediterranean which was breathtakng.

Excellent rooms overlooking Corniche. A lot of character. It would be nice, given this is one of the better quality hotels in Alexandria, if you could rely on the staff not ripping you off on things like taxis. Definitely worth staying in, given the price difference between this and the other main Deluxe hotels on the front. Full of character. Great location right in the centre of town (if a little noisy for sea view rooms). Rooms have high ceilings and nice furnishings. Generally clean and tidy. Breakfast in the morning was one of the better examples we were presented with in Egypt.

Nice room. Well appointed. Old, but classy hotel. Friendly staff. Centrally located. Reasonably priced. Good breakfast. Very clean. Room a little on the small side. Noisy facing the main street. Earplugs help. Travel tip : Lot's of restaurants and stores in the area. Save your shopping for Alexandria.
