Le Metropole Hotel Alexandria Info
Serving visitors to Egypt since 1902, the site of the hotel was once home to Cleopatra's Needle, ancient obelisks that now stand in London and New York City. The hotel is one of the oldest in Alexandria, still a wonderful example of 18th century architecture. The hotel is just one kilometer from the city center and within walking distance of the nearest Metro station. It offers easy access to the beach and the nightlife of Alexandria. The on-site Ambassadeurs Hall is one of the city's finest restaurants and French cuisine is served at Versailles Hall. History buffs will love this hotel, a testament to the rich history of this Egyptian city.

Nice room. Well appointed. Old, but classy hotel. Friendly staff. Centrally located. Reasonably priced. Good breakfast. Very clean.
Room a little on the small side. Noisy facing the main street. Earplugs help.
Travel tip : Lot's of restaurants and stores in the area. Save your shopping for Alexandria.
| Small reservation snafu, but otherwise good. |

Great antique elevators, great rooftop restaurant (in partner hotel Windsor Palace Hotel).
Reservation snafu in that I reserved Le Metropole Hotel but when we arrived, we were told that we were booked at a nearby Windsor Palace Hotel, a sister hotel.
Despite small reservation snafu (not a big deal but slightly annoying considering our late night arrival), all was well. The Le Metropole's sister hotel had a great rooftop terrace for breakfast, and cool antique elevators. BOTH hotels are in great locations, just across from the Corniche.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Bibliotech Alexandria is quite impressive!

All hotel staff are friendly, no exception.
They don't use a vacuum cleaner while cleaning the room.
I stayed in room 412, healthy room, honestly is a magnificenct sea view. Old hotel in building but it's very clean hotel, excellent location, staff are friendly and educated. Toilets are innovated and clean, general is excellent 4 stars hotel.
