The hotel is close to shopping, eating and right on the Nile River

The staff speaks very little English. They do not cash travelers checks. The rooms are dated.

This hotel is in a very nice location on Zamalek Island and is less noisy (if that is possible in cairo) than it is in many other locations around the city, although horns are honking until wee hours of the morning with only a SMALL break around 3-5 a.m. The hotel was not good about reserving my river front rooms as I asked way ahead of time but was willing to switch mine after one day when one became available. The breakfast is OK but could offer more for the taste buds other than the bland sausages and boring omelettes, but was fine to satisfy hunger pains. The rooms are very dated (we had three and all were) but the higher floors on the river side seemed to be larger and had excellent views. There is a Pizza Hut at the corner and a KFC not too far for the American fast food craving. There is a grocery store a block away which is handy and a money exchange just down the street, although they didn'y have any money a couple days nd said it would be "10 minutes" repeatedly for over 2 hours. The staff is nice but it would be wise to know a little traveler's Arabic to get your point made should you need to. I would stay here again because the price is reasonable and I did feel I got what I paid for.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Cabs are readily available and major sites are relatively close

Good Value

None

It is in good area. Near to nile cruise. It is safe and staff is polite. We want to change our room and they help us without asking nothing. Service is fine. Get the rooms above 12 floor.you can find prices of taxis to various places in the hotel.internet centre across the hotel and it is very cheap.

Nightlife Tip : Go to nile cruise with nile maxim

Location, professional staff, reliabilty. Management is aware what customers need.

Some part of the Hotel has good standard of room condition. Facilities are lmited. Old rooms not renowated yet create weakness. An overall better standard can giver much better impression to the hotel. There was nothing in the HJotel atlate night hours...You might create a kind of Roof dining.

We were happy to stay for a couple of days stay we experienced. Better performance seems possible and customers can chose hotel better. Then Hotel also can get better earnings. There are renowated decent rooms in addition modest or lower standerd ones. All clean renowated rooms can bring better unity and impression about Hotel. Customers would better chose the Hotel (prices for renowated rooms are still good, all same better quality can create better customer confidence and customers may prefer better. So all rooms can sell better).

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The are outside is very nice in the evening. We arranged our sightseing from Marriot Hotel. It was fine (quality and prices). Customers need professional staff and reliable service for sightseeing (confortable car and nice tour guide). The prices are OK. Hotel Management has this capacity.

Decent Hotel, but substandard service Guest Rating: 7.7

Hotel is 4 * except for the service which I would rate as 2 * by US standards.

Restaurant Tip : Ask for the Sequoia restaurant (10 min walk) for a decent eat. Otherwise it's all fast food in Zamalek.
