Very Simple & Basic budget Hotel

there are no safety deposit box in the rooms though the main page for this hotel shows a "tick" (indicating yes).
there are no tvs in the rooms too.
overall, a very basic set up. it is situated in kind of a back lane building, where the hotel operation occupies only the 2nd flr; some businesses on the ground flr & third flr. no lifts, only stairs. however, the rooms are generally clean, renovated & of acceptable standards.
if you just want a clean room with air con to sleep comfortably in and budget is somewhat constrained, this is a great choice. the staffs are generally very friendly, honest & helpful.

The hotel is located at the heart of the city, which is easily accessible to shops and restaurants. At night, the place is quite noisy but is great to experience the night life of Cairo. The hotel has excellent breakfast. For such location the price-quality was good.

Every staff was very friendly and kind. location was good too. If you don't care about cleanliness stay. If you care stay another hotel.The hotel has another one where stand close to this hotel. I like the hotel but tick bitten me.

so-so in downtown
located in the downtown, 10 minutes walk to museum, 10 minutes to nile river. nice&helpful staff. take a taxi to pyramid

i have stayed there for almost two weeks. condition is ok. staff there is helpful and warmful.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Don't talk to anybody who intentionally chat to you. Remember it.

Hotel Royal is location in the Al-Borsa area in Downtown Cairo- it is right at the heart of Coffee and Shisha Cafes, filled nightly with lots of Egyptians from all walks of life- great for people watching and getting to meet locations. That said, be prepared for a less than quiet stay- but you dont really need that if you're here to experience Cairo. The location is great though, 10 min from Tahrir Square, Groppi, and many facilities and shops around the corner!
Restaurant Tip:
Foul Nabet at a hole in the wall street shop near the Canadian Embassy in Garden City

Gem of a hotel in downtown Cairo

This small hotel is in an alleyway. The alley transforms into a tea drinking, sheesa smoking and Sports watching TV in the evenings well past midnight. The friendly noise and commotion does not lend to early night sleeping. Once I adjusted my routine I enjoyed this hotel with its clean rooms and excellent staff.
Nightlife Tip:
Downtown nightlife is minutes away from this hotel

Great budget hotel
great location, attentive and caring staff

fantastic budget hotel. the staff are super attentive and will go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful stay. in addition to great staff, the hotel was located down a street teaming with cafes and life. people hang out at the cafes, playing backgammon and smoking hookah late into the night. it had a wonderful atmosphere. the location was also convenient to several other attractions downtown, including the egyptian museum.
