Built around a 19th century palace on an island in the River Nile, Marriott Cairo Hotel combines a unique location with luxurious standards of accommodation and service. The resort is like no other in Cairo � not only is it the largest in the city, but it boasts an excellent range of facilities that includes the 24-hour Omar Khayyam Casino along with health club and spa, swimming pool, sports court, Jacuzzi and sauna. Rooms and suites blend traditional Egyptian elegance with contemporary comfort and nearly all have spectacular views of the city, the Nile and surrounding gardens. Wonderful building, garden terrace ideal for informal meetings and dining. Central location.

Internet use is charged per 15 mins in the business centre - one of the many computers there should at least be free of charge for hotel guests!

Built round an ornate 19th century palace and ideally situated on the upmarket design and residential island of Zamalek, the Marriott offers every conceivable facility, while maintaining it's unique character, for a large city hotel. Busy it may be, but the garden terrace is a peaceful haven for informal meetings and dining - skip the usual buffet in the morning and try the wonderfully healthy Egyptian Breakfast for LE 69.00 ++ instead! many of the best antique and interior design showrooms, book shops and good restaurants are within easy walking distance of the hotel.

Shopping Tip : A very nice bookshop and cafe, DIWAN, is situated just 5 minutes away from the hotel. the books are reasonably priced (the same books at the bookshop in the hotel are around 50% more expensive!) For guests wishing to do interior design shopping there are the Tanis (fabrics) and Gallery Alef design showrooms in Mohamed Anis Street and El Hammam for organic bathroom products in Taha Hussein Street - all in Zamalek!
