This luxury hotel is located in the safe Heliopolis area of Cairo just a 10-minute drive from most of Cairo’s main attractions, including the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, Khan el Khalili, and the Citadel. The Sonesta Cairo’s theme is colonial and its style is grand, exemplified by its gracious staff. Facilities are comprehensive and include the “Radjah”, a ground floor British - Indian colonial style casino, a pool fitness center with Turkish bath and the latest equipment, several gourmet restaurants serving French, Italian, Japanese, and Lebanese cuisine, the hottest nightspot in town, the Sindbad discotheque featuring nightly live shows, the authentic English pub Speke's for the thirsty adventurer, and the Arabic Lounge, a cozy piano bar for romance and relaxation. Guests will find contentment at this plaza of a hotel as there truly is something available for all tastes but a day’s venture outside to explore the ancient sights is highly recommended.
Children and extra beds:Extra beds are dependent on the room you choose, please check the individual room policy for more details.

I am disappointed with my stay this time. During my previous visit, I have lost the internet connection in my Room and that wasn't fixed for 2 days. When I checked in this time I specifically insisted on having the internet in my room. First day was ok, second day lost the internet so they changed my room, less than 24h later I lost the connection again in the new room!!! During my complain, they said that there was nothing they could do as it is due to the internet provider, and I say I will not stay again at the Sonesta. For business travellers who need internet access, stay away from the Sonesta!
Hotel Feature Tip:
Intermittent internet interruptions. Not good enough!

very nicely situated and very easy to access tourist sites, etc. i was pleasantly surprised upon arrival to find i was upgraded to a queen room which was very spacious. my only negative comment is that you should avoid a room overlooking the pool area if you want to sleep at night - the live entertainment around the pool is loud and goes on until 2.00 am every night!
clean, comfortable, helpful staff and good food. likely i will stay there again.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Watch the taxis outside of the hotel. They charge extortionate prices even for short trips! Walk down the road a bit and hail a 'black and white' or a non-hotel taxi as much cheaper!
