Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Clean & comfy guesthouse on quiet side of the Nile
quiet location, lovely rooftop restaurant, personal service
8.3
Not really a hotel but a guesthouse. That said, it's an excellent guesthouse and was much cleaner than some four-star hotels we stayed in during our 10-day Egypt trip. Our room was spacious with a king-sized bed, lockable wardrobe, balcony, and bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was low, but there was always plenty of hot water.
One of the highlights is the rooftop restaurant where you have breakfast (bread, jam, cheese, fried eggs, and fruit) every morning and can also have a home-cooked Egyptian dinner. The views are lovely and the food is quite good, too. We stayed during the chilly month of December and, after dinner, the staff would make a bonfire and we'd sit around chatting with the friendly staff and other guests.
Another plus -- free WiFi that reaches all the rooms!
Highly recommended.
Restaurant Tip:
Toutankhamen Restaurant -- do yourself a favor and have a meal at nearby Toutankhamen restaurant. It's on the same side of the river as Cleopatra (west bank) near the ferry point. It's not fancy by any means, but the chef is French-trained and will cook you a multi-course Egyptian feast for 55 LE per diner. It was hands-down the best, most flavourful meal we had during our 10-day trip.
