It is one of the oldest hotels in the city and where Egyptologist Howard Carter first revealed to the hotel's guests his discovery of King Tut's treasures. Located on the banks of the River Nile, the hotel is just 15 minutes from the international airport and closer still to Luxor Temple. The beautiful hotel still retains much of his European elegance, and guests can spend a few hours in that sophisticated past with a candlelight French meal at 1886 Restaurant, where formal attire and advance reservation are required.
