The Capetown Lodge is a mid-priced hotel in the city center with exceptional service and access to many of the surrounding areas. Although it is not on the waterfront (which many people come here for,) the staff can arrange a shuttle bus to that area at a minimal cost. It is very easy to find from the airport and the staff immediately jumps to attention taking care of any need at the moment of arrival. The Central Business District is right outside the front door making this a perfect option for those traveling and working in the city. Overall, this is a very nice service-oriented mid-range hotel with an excellent location in the city.

The hotel itself is fine, but customer service was horrible. They nickle and dime you for everything. Hard press to find a hotel that doesn't provide some sort of free WiFi (especially when the coffee shop behind it did). After buying 100MB card, we checked email for a grand total of 1 hr before it "ran out". Which made no sense as this stuff is easily traceable on your phone regarding data usage rates. Asked the front desk about it, gave them the card and they said they would look into. Long story short, they continued to give the run around on it (after them having the card all day, they give back and say you have 5MB left on it we "checked" (amount is a crock anyway), immediately go up to use and it won't let us login. Call down to the front desk to ask and they say we must have used it...how could we have used it! You just gave it to us and it won't even let us login to "use" it! Well to them that's all they could say.)
Overall, it just felt like they were trying to rip us off at each turn. This especially became apparent as we traveled through SA and staid at 3 other wonderful places.

From Cape Town International Airport:
Head South out of the airport and keep left at the fork. Take the slight left towards Airport Approach Road. Turn right towards Airport Approach Road. Take the first exit onto Airport Approach Road. Merge onto the N2 Road/Settlers Way via the ramp to Cape Town. Merge onto De Waal Drive. Continue onto Nelson Mandela Boulevard. Continue onto Buitengracht Street for about 1.5km. Cape Town Lodge Hotel will be on the left hand side.
