Stay was enjoyable. I think that they could be more helpful by allowing an additional bed in such a large room for a child if it is requested and charge an extra rate instead of having to pay for a full room which then we move the mattress out because the child is too young to stay alone.

This was a last minute booking for a visit to the area and the hotel
was up to scratch. Good location and especially close to the V&A Waterfront and right across the beachfront. Standard rooms are ok and off street secure access controlled parking is available.

3 star hotel at 5 star location

I have to keep reminding myself that this is only a 3-star hotel because the fabulous sea view location put you in a 5-star mode. The rooms are spacious and clean, but quite basic. With the common heavy winds it can also be a fair amount of noice from the windows. We returned for 2 nights at the end of our stay in South Africa and took the sea view suite, which was a good investment since we had some time to spend at the hotel. Perfect view of the sea and beach promenade from the balconies. But don't expect a 4- or 5-star hotel. It is not.
Restaurant Tip:
Theo's around the corner on Beach Road is a great choice for dinner. Newport down the road is very good for breakfast.

Location was great, but the room was VERY noisy. The room also was leaking from the sliding door.
The room was not cleaned very throughly and the housekeeping made a hell of a noise every morning.

Very comfortable stay, convenient restaurant, great location on the beach. Hotel needs a swimmingpool and small gym to make it perfect.
Restaurant Tip:
Theo's restaurant 1km down the street has the best steaks and lamb shanks in town

Great Location, spacious Rooms, but a little noisy

The location of the hotel is great! Right on Beach Road and a 10 min walk from the water front. The biggest positive is that the stop for the hop-on hop-off city tour bus is right opposite the hotel.
The hotel room can get a bit noisy owing to the busy bar downstairs. Also, some rooms can be stuffy, but for the price, the hotel is well worth it.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Make sure to get the 2-day hop on hop off ticket. It's well worth the money.

Great staff, really bad plumbing!

i selected this hotel because of its awesome beachside location and wifi access in the rooms. unfortunately, wifi was not as advertised - it was only available in the lobby. to their credit, the responsive and polite management jumped at trying to solve the problem, even calling out thier it company. while that was going on, i had to be moved from my room because of blocked plumbing - causing a really appalling stench. they moved me to the penhouse and treated me like a king - but never solved the wifi. i kind of object though - as the online story is that there is wifi in the rooms - which there simply isn't. i do hope they sort this out as i would really love to go back! the staff rock!

Great location;great reception; but...

The "but" refers to the air conditioner that did not heat the room. On one of the coldest nights in Cape Town, the room became a refrigerator. Furthermore, there were no extra blankets in the room (although, I am sure, housekeeping would have obliged). However, more disturbingly, I had reserved a seaview room which, by the time I arrived, had been offered to someone else. To compensate, I was allocated a suite which sounds fine in theory but, for such a short stay, it is wholly impractical as the coffee-making facilities are upstairs. Be warned, too, they are in the process of doing renovations - and they are doing a good job - but between 08h00 and 17h00 it is noisy.
