Fabulous hotel with very helpful staff

Sugar Hotel is a lovely boutique hotel with good sized rooms, beautiful decor and great staff. Everyone staff member we met was positive and could not do enough to help you. The breakfasts (prepared by the owners) were just wonderful. We would have tried dinner in the hotel but it was fully booked each night. It is in walking distance to numerous hotels and shops. We would recommend the hotel highly and hope to return.

Certain areas need an overhaul

Stayed 3 nights. Hotel is in a convenient location for the waterfront. Overall has a lot of potential but was let down by the stained carpets in my room and hallway. The dining room also didn't appear to be kept up to scratch with dust and hair on floors & dirty tablecloths.
Such a shame as the staff are lovely & the immediate presentation looks impeccable. Just not acceptable for a hotel to be dirty & shabby in parts.

Lovely boutique hotel (only seven rooms), perfectly situated close to the V & A Waterfront. The staff were friendly & helpful. Being a small hotel, it was more personal e.g. the waitress knew from our first day what our preferences were regarding beverages. The manager, Nkosi, was always around, asking if we needed anything. Luxury room/bathroom. We would certainly stay there again.
Restaurant Tip:
"Willoughbys" - V & A Waterfront - for soft shell crab (delicious)
Franschoek - Wine tasting at Glen Carlo, Lunch in the Haute Cabriere cellar, Reuben's restaurant
Kalk Bay - Polana or Live Bait - wonderfully situated, good seafood

I think this is my favourite hotel in the World.

Tiny little Boutique hotel, one of Cape Town's real gems. I don't know what to compliment first. The rooms are superb and very well fitted-out and mine had a hot-tub out on a private balcony. The staff counldn't have done more for us, taking time to walk us down to the Waterfront (a 5-7 minute walk, very convenient), opening the bar especially for us when we arrived that first night at some late hour.
Thanks very much for an absolutely wonderful stay. I shall be back!

This is a nice hotel with very good service, Room is new and bed is very comfortable . Will recommend friends who want to visit Cape Town to stay here.Their breakfast is service in five stars service ,food is nice ,it's impressive .
Restaurant Tip:
A lots of resturant around the corner, it is safe to walk around.

Fantastic hotel in a great location.
Beautifully decorated room with large bathroom and a spa pool outside the balcony.

Great location - about 15 mins drive to Table Mountain. about 5-7 mins drive to waterfront. Conveniently located near the highways to Cape point, Hermanus etc.
Food - Restaurant serves fantastic food. Breakfast was great and the dinner menu though has limited choices but the quality is superb.
Hotel service - The staffs are so, so helpful and genuinely polite always.
Safety - no barb wires around the hotel but I felt extremely safe. Cars can be parked in the in-door garage.

I loved this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff was awesome, very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is small, with only a handful of rooms, the decor is very nice. The rooms are spacious and modern. Parking and breakfast (which was delicious!) were included, and the staff helped us book a shark diving excursion.
We didn't walk around the area too much because we rented a car. But it seemed like you might not want to walk around at night, but taking a taxi to the waterfront would be fine, and easy.
