The best feature of the hotel is the fact that it lies directly on the sea-front.
The main weakness of the hotel is that it has rooms (very small ibn my case), a restaurant, Conference facilities and absolutely nothing else.
The hotel is old but well maintained and the staff are very friendly.
Im making a reservation for the hotel, I specifically asked for a "non-smoking" room but was given a "smoking room". I was very dissappointed with the facilities offered by the hotel. The allegedly 4 star rated hotel offered rooms (very small in my case), a restaurant and practically nothing else - no bar, no Business Centre, no Wi-fi facilities, etc., etc. Despite the fact that the old hotel was pretty well maintained and the staff were very friendly, I would probably not choose to stay at this hote again =- because ofthe lack of facilities offered.

Comfee rooms well kept, relaxing lounge area well decored still the old feel,veranda lovely good seating and space. Well kept in general even on the outside.
New staff needs top training, still a bit nurves at times but very very helpfull though. Cofee cold at times,the food in general needs up grading not really 4*.....but nice though. New staff needs same clothing while training even if it is a T-shirt and black pants same coulers looks tattey.
Arraived late afternoon very very welcoming on arraivel,staff friendly and very helpfull,bedrooms well kept comfee beds and very clean,roomservice great,bathroom still the old feel but lovely and thanks for the earbuds good idea,loads of coffe and tea in bedrooms,thanks to the friendly housekeeping staff,the waiters in the dining area, Christofher and Belinda the little blond good service on the veranda Well done u 2. Fantastic stay enjoyed every bit of it, will see u again.Thanks to all
Nightlife Tip : Can be dangerous, just be carefull and do not walk on your own after dark (thats Africa)

Good breakfast buffet, service in the dining area, clean rooms
Front desk staff were not very well coordinated, did not receive a wake up call, hotel transport can be improved atheir car service runs only between 7:30AM-4:00PM
Overall the stay at Balmoral was satisfactory. The location of the hotel is on Marin Parade on North Beach with great views of the ocean and also close to the International Conference Centre. Quality of service and room comfort was good value for money and made for a pleasant stay for business travellers. Hotel transport arrangements is lacking for early/late flights and an evening out in the city.
