Great rooms, pity about the rest
Very spacious modern room. Very clean.

Hotel appears on map to be close to the Gateway shopping centre but not suitable to walk. Hotel car evident but no shuttle service offered.
Poor quality breakfast food with no pork (Bacon or sausages) available.
Restaurant staff constantly circling the limited number of guests.
Discounted rate available through Agoda still overpriced for service offered.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Need to take public transport to the beach and not easily access by public transport. Reckon to rent a car.

Tourist Information
Durban experiences subtropical weather which is fairly constant all year round. Swimming in the ocean can be enjoyed throughout the year, as the warm waters of the Indian Ocean rarely fall below 18 degrees celcius. September – March (Summer) very hot, don’t forget your sunblock, temperature highs vary between 26 – 28 degrees celcius. April – August (Autumn/Winter) – can get cool, however not too cold in Durban, temperature highs vary between 23 – 25 degrees celcius. The hotel’s concierge desk will gladly assist you with any information or shuttle arrangements required including airport transfers.
The Saffron Restaurant
The Saffron restaurant is situated on the 04th floor of the hotel and can seat upto 160 guests. This restaurant overlooks the main Umhlanga beach and is opened daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. After a sumptuous meal, tuck into a cafe mocha or select from our imported coffee blends at the Vanilla Coffee Shop adjacent to the restaurant

From King Shaka International Airport:
Head south west towards Mdloti Street and then turn left onto Mdloti Street. Keep right at the fork and merge onto the N2 Road. Take exit 182 for the M41 towards Mount Edgecombe/Phoenix/Umhlanga and turn left onto the M41. Take the exit towards the M12, turn left onto the M12, and continue through a traffic circle. The hotel will be on the left-hand side, at No. 324 Umhlanga Rocks Drive.
