Tropicana Hotel, Durban

Stay at the hotel was a two part series. Room is big enough, but the room itself needs to be modified and brought up to date with modern times. Staff were Awesome in every way from getting a taxi, to directions and suggestions. Overall appearance was excellent! Sanitation was excellent in the main lobby and in the rooms. The rooms had an A.C unit that was mounted over the door, which was very ineffective. The windows had to remain open to keep it cool, but made the room very noisy due to the traffic and street noises that were going on down below the room window. The restrooms were very clean. T.V's need to be upgraded. They are still using televisions that need to be manually turned on then may operated b a remote. The batteries that were in the remote for my room were dead, so it was a mute point. I am actually shocked that the hotel was using a physical key to open the doors. The locks should be switched over to the plastic card key system. It might cost a little up front, but provides a better sense of security for the hotel guest and in the long run, provides better security. The Breakfast was awesome and the meals for lunch and the bar were excellent. The only suggestion that I would have is for the bar be capable of making cocktails like daquari's and other drinks as such. The hotel is located next to the beach and a lot of people would like to have a nice drink with fruit and an umbrella in it.
