Its position on the headland with an unfettered view across Walker Bay.
Very classy, top level hotel with impeccable service
The hotel is a few minutes walk from the shops, village and shoreline. The villages around Walker Bay and nearby vineyards are within an hour by car.
The Marine is tranquil and quiet, allowing a complete break away from it all.
The rooms, particularly those with a view on the Bay, are excellent, well furnished with extremely comfortable beds.
The two restaurants are top quality and menus are varied and well priced. The range of wines is vast with many from the locality. Pre-dinner drinks can be taken in the lounge bar, looking out across the Bay.
The staff, at all levels, are happy to interact with Guests in an interesting way and can give plenty of advice on anything in the region.
This was our third stay and we will stay at the Marine on future visits.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : During August to October, southern right whales are found in Walker Bay. It is part of their migratory cycle. They reproduce here. We saw many whales with their young close to the shoreline i.e. 100 to 200 metres away. The best spot is De Kelders, about an hour by car around the Bay.
