Basic and functional
Free wi-fi and free airport shuttle
5.7
Basic hotel, close to JHB. Our "deluxe" room didn't have any special features, although it did have strip flourescent lighting and a glass frontage. Reception closes and you're locked in from 22.30, but you can borrow a remote for the gate for a R200 deposit (or not in our case, as we were leaving at 6am). There is a pool, but it was full of insects.

Cosy and clean - nice except for mosquitos
Proximity to the Airport-Shuttle available and functioning well
6.3
Well organized and friendly team, I was picked up at the airport quickly and brought to the Airport Inn B&B in less than 10 minutes.
Rooms were small but OK. Presence of mosquitos at night was the main concern for resting during this quiet night.
Food is available in the hotel at night, but only frozen, not freshly prepared. Breakfast was basic but OK.

Practical Transfer Inn Jo`berg
Simple, cosy Restaurant area
8.7
having to spend a night on our way to botswana, the airport inn was a close and from the hospitality point of view a friendly and simple option. no hotel feeling with boring rooms. the internet fotos look nicer than the rooms and especially the garden really are, its all alittle older and less picturesque. the rooms were small but clean and comfy, good showers (gas heated). the reception and small restaurant is simple bush material which is a good way to slip into africanstyle mood. hearty breakfast included, pizza delivery on evenings.
jet noise is quite evident when they take off until around 23h, and start again around 06h. in general that should not be a strong negative criteria. price and location are winners.

Charming atmosphere, so close to the airport!
Proximity to airport, friendly staff, unique and quaint atmosphere
10
a lovely oasis, bunnies hopping around the lush grounds, pomegranate trees laden with fruit, very adequate, clean rooms, very helpful and friendly staff and great breakfast! perfect location as well. i appreciated the free airport pick up and drop off as well.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If your flight is later in the day, have the hotel book you on a 1/2 day trip to the Lion Park- playing with baby lions and petting/feeding a giraffe as well as seeing all the other wildlife there was well worth the trip. We were back by 1:00

Great location, but sad deluxe rooms
7.7
no power points, no air conditioning. very sad deluxe room. good airport transfers. nothing to write home about, but what it lacks in quality is somewhat compensated for with it's position.
