nice, quite, in the the heart of the town, amazing breakfast buffet...
looks like a 4 strar ruther than a 5 star hotel!!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : its located in the heart of the town, with walking distanation to the Old market of Tunis Town & the central market where they have fresh products. you can rent a car for a day or drive to hummamat ( around 150 km!!) ... its about 30 mints away from khartage & sedi bu seed ( You must see these 2 places togeather).
if you planning to go to sussa... forget it!! its 200 km away!!
if you are travelling in winter; its good to stay here... but for summer time i recomend to stay in hummamat (LALA Bya Hotle); its amazing one!

Positive attitude from the personnel, excellent location in the city, nice rooms with Internet, the reception and bar area positive
Dinner in the restaurant on the 5th floor a disaster. If you order a filé "à point" and you get it "hyper bien cuite" = dead, what's your feeling about the chefs??? The waiter, however was all for changing it and helping me. Howeer, it will take long time until I dare to eat meat there.
I have given my ideas aabove mentioned.

Comfortable, cleanish, great location to cafes and Medina. Staff try to be helpful.
Little expensive for what it is. Is 5 star by French/Africa standards, but really only 3-4 star. Smokers aplenty.
All in all a nice hotel, which is in a great location for the cafes and medina. The staff try to help, but are not great English speakers and a bit gets lost in translation when trying to organise tours etc. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and have all required ammenities, but I would only say it is a 4 star at best, based on age and service.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : When visiting Tunisia try to arrange as much as possible before you leave home as it is not a place for independant travellers. We found it very hard to organise transport and tour guides once we were there.

Although it is rated as a five star property, I was not convinced it equates to this in terms of rivals elsewhere (outside of Tunisia).
Shopping Tip : Do your currency exchange at the STB bank next door rather than in the hotel. You will get a better rate.

Room very adequate. Perfect Home. Breakfast perfect.
My last hotel stays (3 stays in 2009) were held in better conditions. Unfortunately, unlike other hotels in the same class in other countries, Internet connectivity (WiFi and cable) is paid. I think the customer pays unprix reasonable to have this connection for free.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Tunis Center (especially the souk) to really visit.

Very well located on the Avenue Bourguiba (Champs Elysees of Tunis). I am truly fascinated by the hospitality, service, discretion of staff ... very classy!
I regularly stay at the Hotel Africa throughout the year. Despite my late arrival, I always find a friendly staff, caring and available, a true haven of peace and détente.Les rooms are well equipped and located from 7th floor which can offer a panoramic view very appréciable.Personnellement, I prefer the rooms overlooking the Avenue more "live". It is the only hotel that I go to Tunis and I highly recommend!
Nightlife Tip : Niel's the disco, 19 rue du Belvédère Liberia 1002

Located in the heart. Breakfast.
No gym. Debit wi-fi a bit low.
Own room, bathroom correct. Buffet breakfast with a superb wide selection to satisfy all tastes, all served in a large room with beautiful view on the Avenue Bourguiba. Some details a little disappointing: a shower curtain rather than a screen toughened glass, ventilation of the bathroom insufficient door towel wrong place. Internet wi-fi a bit expensive for the speed available (around 10 Euros per 24 hours). A good hotel for the price, comparable to a good 3 star in France.
Nightlife Tip : The terraces of a nearby cafe, watching life pass by end of day.

Very good location, the hotel is very clean
We were once in the evening just at the bar at the hotel lobby, I would recommend not undedingt. Our drink, a Mai Tai, we got in a little glass of champagne. The ingredients were not chilled, just a lone ice cube should provide cooling. Even with the rum was gespart.Umgerechnet 5 euros was a little too expensive.
Nightlife Tip : No bar to take another drink, not a European Standard

A great view. Spacious bathroom. Good in bed sleeping. Delicious breakfast buffet.
The hotel's first floor cafe, even par for the general public cafe cafe staff to use so many ordinary people throughout the day.
Definitely a 5 star level and also for the staff room. Room also has a fine sense of calm they are tasteful furniture and carpet colors. They also have good air conditioning, and the hotel bed to sleep a good deal. Very cozy space above my house, the hotel seems to want to stay forever.
Nightlife Tip : The hotel has a main street in line with many outdoor cafes are crowded with many people at night in Tunisia. But no alcohol, the flowers bloom over a cup of mint tea talk among the people of Tunisia, a good night to enjoy a healthy life.
