A blissful holiday

Mesmerizing location, few people and polite staff
It was my first visit to Goa. I am thankful that i chose Agonda of all places.Coming from New Delhi and working as a doctor in the busiest hospital of India, I wanted a holiday surrounded by few people and Agonda offers exactly that. The Romance Beach huts are situated at one end of the beach not very far from a cliff and a beautiful small rivulet draining into the Arabian Sea(don't miss swimming in the river). The huts are dismantled every Monsoon and when we arrived in mid-November , we were placed in the only rebuilt pink hut. Along the beach, you may find many more furnished huts but none offers the location advantage of Romance beach huts. Our hostess was Ms Sara, a very polite and accommodating Goan. If she had a restaurant, it would be Michelin starred! The biryani she cooked for us surpassed any I had eaten in Delhi in flavor and taste. Thanks, Sara ji. The hut was good for accommodation too. You do get water but at low pressure and with a slightly salty taste. If you walk too fast, the whole structure creaks. 3G services are not available in Agonda yet although few restaurants give you free wifi if you eat there. But the beds are comfortable, huts are clean, the fans work alright, the location is ethereal and the people around you are good-natured. You can't expect any more from a place charging you 1000 a night. I will come again to the beach huts, very soon. Don't miss : 1. swimming in the river nearby 2. eating Sara's biryani 4. kayaking at the nearby Palolem beach 4. sleeping under the moonlight on the sand (its pretty secluded out there at night)

Awful. Leaving them half way through our holiday. It was my worst ever holiday experience. As a result of this experience I might never use Agoda again.

Great Location Not so great accomodation

Location on beach, Peaceful lsurroundings, Excellent privacy
The shacks (they really are plywood shacks) are located in a secluded corner of possibly the quietest beach in Goa that you can stay on. The shacks are very spacious as they have two rooms each with a double bed. Why are the shacks plywood? Because the local council will only permit temporary structures on the beach. The shacks are next to a river and have open eaves, it gets very cold at night with the wind blowing through the eaves. The toilet works and flushes properly, the bathroom is very spacious, however, there is only cold water shower with low water pressure. The water from the shower doesn't drain properly. I only asked for hot water once towards the end of my stay (it was December after all - peak winter in Goa) when I was sick, but the request was refused. The electrical wiring was dangerous, sparking now and then, with all the wood in the shack, its only a matter of time before there is a fire in these shacks. No mosquito nets were provided instead a vaporiser was provided which ran out of chemical after two nights and was never replaced when requested. Wifi was only operational in the second week of my stay and was very weak and mostly unusable. The operators cook food if you pre-order but you have to eat what they prepare, no choice. The food quality is also very variable, excellent one day and poor the next. On the last night we ate some chicken curry which gave me mild food poisoning. However, there are plenty of restaurants along the beach and on the road behind the beach. If you haven't been to these huts before, the approach is a bit of a shock as its through some narrow lanes. I didn't find the operators friendly or accommodating either - it wouldn't have taken that much effort to provide some hot water in a bucket to a sick guest, for example. I am not too sure on the whole if I would stay there again, the location is very peaceful but the accommodation is not all that good.

Premium is Misleading but very quiet

Very quiet location
For very low budget extremely quiet accomodation this place is perfect, however to call the huts premium is misleading and the picture looks lovely from the outside but the huts are basically rickety shacks, the only thing Premium being the large size compared to other huts. Stuck right on the end of Agonda it is also relatively inaccessible. Having stayed 2 weeks on Agonda I would summarise that there are much nicer beachfront huts at similar and even lower prices along Agonda beach. Sorry for the not-so-positive review, but the external pictures combined with the word premium lead people to expect something better than what the hut itself offered, and that seems not quite fair.
