Great beach location, bed was super hard!

All inclusive, right on beach, best snorkeling,
The resort was beautiful, people friendly, great location on beautiful beach with several cabanas to get out of sun, free in room safe, get two free beach towels to use, had to pay($10 usd a day or $30 per stay) for personal internet, had two "free" computers for whole resort to check emails and flight info only, bed was super hard and hard to sleep on, paid extra for ocean view room got view overlooking the pool with beach in background so might want to double check your location if book same. The buffet style food was good, desserts were tasteless, dining hall was very nice overlooked the beach with breeze if near windows. Had restaurant style eating but needed reservations, we did not use. Beer served only Dos XX.

5 star beach 2 star resort

Great Beach, Good Snorkeling, Close to local restaurants
This hotel is tired, old, and run down. Food is abysmal. Drinks are just ok. Beer is good and cold. Beach is wonderful.

Average everything.

Beach, turtles, staff
The food here was below average. Prepared well enough, but not enough variety and cheaper fare than I expected. Never had any shellfish, steaks, or any other moderately priced items on the menu. Lunch was terrible everytime we ate it. Just started skipping it after a few days. The "reef" is mostly dead and there aren't too many fish to see, although you will have no problem swimming with giant sea turtles at any time during the day, if you snorkel near the buoys at the left side of the beach while facing the ocean. No wifi in the rooms and wifi in the lobby for $10 a day. Resort gift shop gouges you on prices. Evening entertainment was nothing great either. They had a good show one day. Other days it was just an average sounding live band for an hour or karaoke. Resort was clean and staff was friendly and fluent. Beach was clean.

Beach, Service, Food
This resort is older, however, the beach is the important piece of the property. Very clean and the dining area is also.

Lovely hotel and service with a smile

snorkeling for turtles
it's not a quiet place, but it's great for kids. if you're just a couple without kids go elsewhere. they have another area that is further from the pool and all the noise, but they didn't offer us to move there - perhaps we should have asked though. the food is ok, but sometimes it lacks taste. breakfast is better. wifi is not available in the rooms, only in the reception area, and it costs 10$. there are 2 internet stands for free. if you go there, don't miss the snorkeling, because they have some nice sea turtles grazing there. you can take a guide or go by yourselves.

Beautiful beach, friendly service.

friendly service, nice beach, pretty good food, safe
we booked a standard room and absolutely did not like the room at all. we were upgraded immediately when we expressed our concern with the room. the upgraded room was still very spartan and not luxury by any means, but it was clean and a world apart from the standard room. there were a lot of older people and families at the hotel, but it really worked out perfect for my husband and i. if you are looking for a really relaxing time, a little nature, snorkeling / diving and an all-inclusive that provides every single thing that you need, then this is a perfect hotel for you. i am pretty picky, and i actually really enjoyed the buffet. we were only at abr for 4 nights, but it provided enough variety for me not to get sick of it at all.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Snorkel and see turtles right from the resort.

Fabulous Location, Friendly Staff

Water front, Greeat Value not too crowded
lovely view, clean rooms, large but basic with balcony large bath and good storage. good food, large varied buffet (only one) and a couple of dinner choices of mexican or italian by reservation. several bars and daytime food by the pool or beach in addition to lunch buffet. relaxed atmosphere and activities for all ages for those who wish to partake. large swimming pool, ocean, beach, snorkeling with turtles on the doorstep. met interesting people of all ages from many countries.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: centrally located to many area attractions by taxi or collecctivo such as tulum beach, ruins, theme parks such as xcaret, xel-ha and more as well as smaller communities of chemyil, akumal and puerto morelos in additon to playa del carmen. akumal easy walk, others need transport. yal-ku lagoon a long walk or bike ride.

excelente hotel

Resort mediocre in un luogo magnifico
