Could be so much better
We had a family room that provided plenty of space for our family of 4. The 2 bathrooms was an added bonus but cleanliness really needs to be addressed. It's mainly down to staff training but using the same cloth to clean everything in the room, from toilet to glassware is not acceptable, nor is a 2 week stay with the bed linen only getting changed when we requested it to be. I don't expect it to be changed daily but at minimum weekly should be automatic. The staff were great though. Very friendly and accommodating even if at times their understanding of English wasn't great. The swimming pool is a lot smaller than it appears in the photos but good enough to entertain the kids in. The location is great being just about 1km north of Chaweng. There is a shuttle service provided but a Songteow is B40 per adult to go there if you miss their timings. Nearby the hotel are some other hotels providing variety of dining options with our favourite being Coral Bay Resort. On the main road there are convenience stores, money changers and car/motorbike rental places as well as a couple of small eateries all within walking distance. Not sure we'd stay again but mainly because of the lack of beach to swim at. The staff and the space offered by the room made up for many of the failings.

Not stroller friendly
This place was nice and clean. It was definitely on the expensive side for thailand. It was triple what we were paying for similar off the island. (Everything on the island is more expensive by at least 3 times.) The resort... we loved the individual villas but the site is hilly and hard with a stroller. Most rooms are inaccessible by stroller. The breakfast was subpar. The pool was excellent. The shuttle was awesome to have. The beach is cleaned daily. It was not too busy which made it that much nicer.

Als Resort October 2015 Half Term Holiday
Location near the beach, one very good bar person call P View
The resort is run down and needs major upgrade work, staff are very young and lazy, cleaning is particularly bad especialliy in public areas. 3 hour wi fi vouchers are a pain. We left one day early.

Cockroach!!
Location is ok
Not the best value for money! I'm shocked that it has been rated a 4* when I have stayed in other hotels in Thailand that have a much higher standard! The first night there was a cockroach in my room! Also showers are outdoors and there is no wifi in the rooms as advertised

Family vacation.
View from the room, cleanliness and room service.
We are an old couple and now going different places. Koh Somai was our first stop in Thailand. We stayed for six days and enjoyed our stay. No complaints. Only problem was communication. The staff understood very little English. It was difficult to get any information about the different activities going on in the town.

Great Family Orientated Resort
Fantastic Staff, Pool and free shuttle
Couldn't ask for friendlier staff. Very accommodating. Healthy 15 minute walk to town, but runs a free shuttle several times a day. Breakfast had a large variety that should suit most and dinner and lunch pricing was very reasonable. Is in a quiter part of town for those who prefer to be out of the hustle and bustle. Pool is a nice size and pool staff were excellent with kids. Happy hours ran from 2-8 with buy 1 get 1 free cocktails and small beers.

Relaxing individual bungalows
Individual accomodation, relaxing and value for money
Very nice and relaxing Suggestion - Do not book the rooms near to the pool as holiday makers ignore the swimming times and swim early in the morning and after 8-0pm which can be very noisy
