Promise more then they have.
When we arrived the house we had booked & paid for was occupied. They attempted to relocate us to their sisterhotel, but we refused. After a long argument we accepted to be placed in a smaller villa the first night, and that we whouldnt have to pay for it. The welcome was ruined for us arriving with two children, one of them infant, finding out that we couldnt get our room. Positive: The area is lovely, cozy feeling and wonderful nature around. We liked the concept with huge living area and personal pool. Negative: Non functional booking system. Overpriced resturant. They told us about a nearby resturant, wich also was overpriced, (they actually had 2diffrent menues with local price and turist price) The last day we found a really cheap resturant close to the hotel. The laundry was given to a local laundry service across the road, so we could see our clothes hanging there outside to dry. We did see this place before but didnt want to turn our clothes in there since we had our clothes destroyed earlier at another place when we turned our laundry in to a place like that. They also let us pay 1/5 of the hotel laundry price after we complained about this. One evening the water went out. We couldnt shower after beeing in the pool. Sat waiting for over 1h before they offered us to use the SPA shower. They clean the room nicely on the floors, but they miss alot of details. Filthy mosquito canopy over the beds. Stains on sofa cloth. Broken bed-lights. Unable to close up rooms proppely, to get good AC climate. Water dripping down from AC making a pool of water. Every day the cleaning team turned off the air condition. Wich turned out quite frustrating when comming back to the hotel after a hot day, struggling with the heat, finding a warm humid hotelroom.

Serene and Tranquil beautifully isolated from the hordes.
From our first moment in being greeted by smiling lovely Ulan and Nyoman in reception the Alum Puri staff made our stay there for 10 days wonderful always courteous ,thoughtful and kind, the driver Nyoman so informative and careful, the Restaurant with Sumadi and Juni and their team of beautiful traditionally dressed waitresses so attentive. The housekeeping staff always leaving our room spotless and serviced at the return from breakfast which was always delicous we eat Indonesian food so had the Nasi Goreng with egg on top, fruit plate coffe, fresh juice all excellent. The grounds are just beautful, clean pool, towels and lounge chairs, it is lovely and quiet the area of Penatih Village has no tourists this place is for those that enjoy tranquillity. We stayed in a 1 bedroom pool villa could have stayed for a month very happily.

Great Experience
Big rooms even too big for me and my wife. Nice view from my room. The facility such as bath tub, private pool, library, restaurant and swimming pool is satisfactory. Maybe management has to make complete with the curtain at window's bathroom, because there's no curtain at that place to keep your privacy and no water in toilet, so you have to clean yourself by tissue after using closet. I'm as indonesian not comfort with using tissue or without water in the toilet. But for totally the resort is recommended for you especially for couple.

Nice place but could do with an update
We were initially put in a villa with a pool that was broken. This wasn't going to work for us as our 6 year old had been waiting for her own pool all day! Staff kindly moved us and all was fine.

First class
This hotel is just what we were looking for, plush and quiet, although close enough to all the major things you would want to do in bali. The staff are very friendly and helpful making you feel at ease. The room was clean and sizeable, exactly what you would expect from a hotel like this and does you fine while here, unless all you want to do is stay in your room then you might want a little more. The resteraunt was delicious and cheap perfect for a cozy evening in. All in all this is a great hotel and even better if you don't want to do the whole travel round bali thing as this if right in the middle of it all and taxis are so cheap. We stayed here and got to see everything and had an idyllic place to call home every night. Thank you alam puri.

Accomadation was good although needed a lot of work and maintenance.
Could not use shower as was in very poor condition. Be careful with possessions as my watch went missing when we were in the pool, but after complaining and wanting the matter reported to police the watch turned up in a very unusual place.

Wonderful 2 bedrooms villa
Good swimming pool, wonderful garden, great smiling staff, amazing 2 bedroom villa. Some things are a bit old but it does not matter. It's my favorite place in bali.

Wonderful hotel, especially the staff that were doing everything they could for your needs and to make you comfortable. The surroundings and atmosphere were lovely. It was a bit away from the Ubud center, but they provided a free shuttle bus that went to and from the center 4 times a day, so it was never a problem!

Amazing property but finesse is missing!!
The infrastructure; Ambience and Location
The property is amazing along with its location. The whole place gives a feel of living in a Balinese house. We had a Villa with private pool and the infrastructure was pretty good. The outside pool area and hotel amenities are also amazing. The only problem is with the finesse which is completely missing. The staff though very courteous, do not focus on small details about cleanliness and what the customer would need. Also language problem is a huge barrier (which I think is applicable to Bali overall). This hotel though not bad but can be far much better if these small things are taken care of.
