Recently remodeled, the AlamKulKul Boutique Resort is still a symbol of Bali’s unique culture with its thatched roof villas and decor consisting of antique furniture and local handicrafts all set amidst a series of flower gardens and tranquil pools. The hotel itself offers a wide range of international cuisines at the Bunga Kelapa restaurant, and the Jamu Traditional Spa has a variety of treatments for guests who like to pamper themselves. The AlamKulKul Boutique Resort is conveniently located across from the Kuta Beach and is very close to local dining and shopping hotspots. We Chose to Stay a 2nd Single Night in 2 Weeks!

Late Check Out. Across the Road from the Beach. Restaurants in the Hotel & a good choice of Breakfast. Friendly Staff
This was our 2nd one night Stay. Once when we arrived in Bali & we chose to book again for another night prior to leaving Bali because the hotel was of a good standard & we knew we would get a good quality hotel with breakfast rather than having to find somewhere else. Reception staff are helpful & pleasant as is all the staff. In saying that the breakfast buffet the 2nd time around was disappointing. Food was not replenished even though we were quite early & we had to keep requesting coffee refills. NOTE: Many people complain about the pool water being warm. This is a warm country of course it will be warm, but the bigger pool was a bit murky on our 2nd visit. Lots of Umbrellas & towels poolside are provide.

Relaxing stop over

Location, staff, friendliness
My wife and 2 kids thoroughly enjoyed our short (3 day) stop-over enroute to Jakarta. Being at the quieter end of Kuta was great with easy access to the beach, restaurants and Kuta main road also.

Reliable Stay

Across the road from the beach. Late check in availability. A bit quieter than downtown Kuta.
Based on previous Agoda reviews we booked this Hotel. There was an odour from the bathroom but nothing too desperate. As we were only staying the night it wasn't a problem. Good breakfast choice and the travel desk helped arrange a transfer to Ubud by car. In fact we have booked again to stay another night when we depart Ball in a weeks time, because it was so easy.

Great location, great staff service,

location, staff very polite and efficient, well maintained
Very good, recommendable, They should improve on the variety of breakfast, and we were quite disappointed with their BBQ international buffet, very limited food selection and not value for money !

Location. Rooms. Staff.
We had a lovely stay at Alam Kulkul Boutique Resort. We stayed for nine nights and enjoyed every aspect of the resort. It's quiet and pretty, the staff are so lovely, lovelier than staff at most places I've stayed in Bali. The buffet breakfast had a wonderful selection. And the grounds and pool were lovely. The room was very clean and modern and nicely styled (we stayed in the new alam room) which had a gorgeous view overlooking the garden pool. Wednesday nights they offer free cocktails and Barong Dancing and traditional music which was wonderful and the dinner was traditional BBQ all you can eat which only cost $17AUD. All the staff were very helpful and perfectly located right on Legian Beach. Close to plenty of shopping and only 5mins ($3.50AUD) from Seminyak. We would love to come back again! Only cons were that the pools could have been a little cooler (it was 33 degrees celsius every day and it was like hopping in a bathtub, not refreshing at all, but hopefully an easy fix for them), and the cocktails at the resort were average in comparison to other hotels in the area. Overall we enjoyed our stay and it was just what we were looking for: pretty, clean, in a great location and relaxing.

Always good!

Located in a great spot. The staff were very attentive and the overall experience was fabulous!
Always good! This was our third time back to Alam Kul Kul. We stayed in the recently renovated New Alam Lanai room. It was lovely and quiet. Perfect break to charge the batteries!

Great renovated rooms, amazing service!

Staff, location, beach
We always look for small hotels, as the service always seems authentic. The staff at Alum KulKul were amazing. Warm, gracious, helpful and always welcoming. We were in a renovated Alum Family room, which was well thought out. 4 bottles of complimentary water were provided daily. The pool area is great; our 7 and 10 year olds enjoyed the daily dips. Daily breakfasts were awesome... eggs cooked to order, lots of different food options. The Wednesday night BBQ and show was very fun. The show was just the perfect length (about an hour). I took the cooking class with Chef, which was a great experience. I learned a ton about Indonesian cooking. One note, the trip to the market puts you smack dab in the middle of Kuta traffic, which is always bad. Getting there takes at least 45 minutes. The market is cool, but if you've spent time at other markets, I'd suggest forgoing the trip, and jumping right into the cooking! Wifi is best by the pools, and in the restaurant areas (as far as we could tell) but fairly unreliable. An update to the wifi infrastructure would improve performance significantly. Thank you to all staff for our wonderful experience.
