A magical setting, a hidden treasure.

Location, remoteness, the hot springs.
Unfortunately I could not spend long enough to enjoy this unique spot, which is set apart from any other place I have been to. It's beauty, it's vastness with so much choice for children as well as adults was a delight and a joy that so much was on offer. I loved the accommodation and the ability to step out and see the beautiful peaceful surroundings. I enjoyed every minute of my very short stay. I will be back very soon.

relaxing place to stay

thermal springs-room comfort-staff
Very good, except for the food which I found to be not of good quality and overpriced-in fact disappointing

Great getaway.

Quiet, peaceful, wonderful staff.
This was a wonderful surprise. After living in country for two years, this is a great oasis in the middle of everyday Vietnam. Quite some distance from Quang Tri or Hue, so choose your taxi wisely. English is spoken during day time working hours, but all of the staff from security to the maids, were willing to give it a try. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Extra towels, free rides on the zip line, and letting us stay over while we waited on our taxi back to Hue. We got a flash deal from Agoda, as there were very few people staying there. I was the only "foreigner" and it appears from the number of day visitors that this is usually locals only. The grounds are very well maintained and very large. If all of the rooms were full, there is still enough space to never feel crowded. The rooms were very clean, modern, and all of the facilities were well maintained. Breakfast was strictly Vietnamese, but there was an American menu from which to order. Service was exceptional. We did not use the spa or massage but the various hot springs and pools were great to relax in. The weather was perfect as well. My wife tried the zip line with me, which was quite a shock. The only complaint is that even though they advertise bicycles for rent, they don't. We really needed to get out and buy some items at a store, as there is no place on site to buy toothpaste, phone cards, or even a candy bar. We look forward to visiting again over Christmas. We were really impressed with the beauty and peacefulness of the grounds. This is a great place to chill out for a few days.

Nice find for a couple of days of calm

Hot Springs, Spa, Room
Worth the pleasant trip from Hue for 2 days of calm. It was nice to be met on arrival by a hotel guide (English speaking) who took me to my room then provided a tour of the facilities. The grounds are very pleasant and the springs wonderful and soothing with different water temperatures to suit all. Getting around is no problem at all as there are signs which are easy to follow, and numerous staff. The Spa Centre offers many treatments and is a must-do. The Spa staff are very professional and caring when it comes to your needs. At the restaurants, again the staff are wonderful and friendly. Not all speak English, and those with little English are happy to chat. The food was a little disappointing at Lotus Restaurant. Breakfast was ok but dinners were very bland. I always eat local food (never Western) and the joy of eating Vietnamese food is provided by the flavours from various spices, sauces and accompaniments. I never appreciate having my local food modified because I am not a local. But overall Alba is a great place to chill out and relax for a couple of days.

Very far from the airport - about one hour. So quite at nigh. Nice breakfast and attentive staff
About one hours journey from airport to the resort. Quiet. The Hot spring is not well maintenance. Mostly local stay here.

Very nice resort for full relaxation

Atmosphere, activities, food
I love my stay at Alba Thanh Tan. We were arranged to a room facing the lotus pond, near to entrance, near to restaurant, a very comfortable stay indeed, especially for my kids. We tried Zipline, it is fantastic, will return another time for Highwire.

The hotel is more for local. It is out of place.

It is a quiet and peaceful. The staff is friendly.
It is out of place. The swimming pool is dirty. The service is slow. It is not ready for tourists yet.

Very relaxing, quiet setting, friendly staff

The rooms are beautiful, the staff were so freindly and a very quiet setting
This was a very remote place. They have mostly vietnamese people coming to the hot springs and spa. Now they have a very nicely laid out zip line and hi wire course. Very well done. I couldn't figure out how to get there but finally found out if you go to Queen 2 hotel (maybe it's queen 1)...on the street behind Camilia hotel that they will set you up with a shuttle for usually 60,000 dong. A good deal as it is very far from the city. English is hardly spoken but they are learning and try very hard! It's a very beautiful area.
