A fabulous stay in Rome

The concierge Enzo, the complementary shuttle to and from the Spanish Steps, and the beautiful pool and patio restaurant
The Aldrovandi Borgese hotel has old world charm with all the modern amenities you'd expect at a 5 star hotel. The beds were comfortable, the breakfast buffet was wonderful and Enzo the conceriege was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed talking the hotel's bikes for a ride in Borghese park followed by wine and hors d'oeuvres at the lovely terrace restaurant by the pool. The staff was terrific from the bell boys, to the restaurants, and housekeeping, everyone was professional and attentive to our need. My only complaint is thst our rooms were not ready at 2 although that's the specified check in time and we had arrived at the hotel at 11am. The lady at the front desk offered us a complementary drink for the inconvenience but nerve followed through on the offer. She should have given us a voucher to to redeem at the bar or a small room credit. Also we were a family of 7 and booked three rooms. The hotel requested that we change our room to a higher room catagory for a triple which we did. The same girl at the front desk slipped in a $100 per night charge for an extra bed even though we requested a triple up front when making our reservation and paid $100 more per night for what we are told was a triple room. We loved our 3 days in Rome and our stay at the Aldrovandi however management should address the front desk issues.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The continuous shuttle service to and from the Spanish Steps was really convenient as was its location to Borghese Gardens.
Rate it as somewhere to come back to as a favourite.?

The pool, the breakfast buffet, and the location just outside the busy city center.
We had a great stay here and would highly recommend.

Great hotel outside the hustle and bustle of Rome

Gardens/pool, service levels, rooms
Excellent stay - it was our anniversary and we were delighted to receive an upgrade to a suite and a complimentary bottle of wine to celebrate. We loved relaxing in the gardens by the pool on comfortable sun loungers as a time out from sightseeing from Rome - it is very peaceful and quiet here, perfect for some R&R. It is slightly out of the centre (just a 5 minute/€10 taxi away) in a pretty location by the Villa Borghese gardens which we liked for the peace and quiet but others may prefer a hotel where you walk right out into the middle of bustling Rome. There was a good breakfast, 5 star service from staff throughout the hotel (by the pool, at breakfast etc). The concierges were very helpful in recommending and booking restaurants for us in Rome and also proved very helpful when we left a bag in a taxi one evening - they tracked it down for us and when we returned that evening it was waiting in our room for us (no charge for whatever it may have cost the taxi to return it to the hotel either). Excellent hotel that I would be happy to return to on our next visit to Rome

Splendid luxury in an ideal location.

Service, Relaxation, Convenience
My wife and I booked the hotel for a luxury break in Rome close enough to the sights and sounds, but for some relaxation by the pool also. The hotel matched those requirements comfortably. On immediate arrival everything was perfect. The pool area is ideal for relaxing (down to the staff having a discrete word with any children who were being too noisy). The courtesy bus to the top of the Spanish Steps was a great convenience meaning that the slight distance away from town was not a problem. Every encounter with the staff at the hotel was impeccably managed. One noteworthy point was when the spa had double-booked and my wife could not have her treatment. We were intending to raise a discrete complaint about this but before we got the chance we returned to our room to find a complimentary bottle of prosecco waiting along with a note of apology for the earlier problem. This was a very nice touch typical of the high levels of care from the staff. The food options at lunch time could be a little broader, the spa has room to improve, but overall you pay for and hope for a fine and luxurious hotel stay, and that's precisely what you get.
