Nice hotel with the best view.
Very enjoyable and nice one night stay at the hotel. We opted for the tent and it was very specious and comfortable, surrounded by lush vegetation. Quite experience, I should say, very different from staying in the room. The view that unfolds at the reception on Sigiriya rock is just unbelievably beautiful. Hotel grounds were maintained beautifully as well and a big pool provided ample space to relax and was very rejuvenating after climbing the rock. The hotel is about 15-20 minutes away by car from the rock and Dambulla cave temple, which was no problem for us, since we traveled by car. We had a la carte brunch, which was quite disappointing, but for dinner, we opted for buffet, and it turned out to be very good, with a lot of choices and tasty Sri Lankan and European dishes.

An lovely experience
First, We were sleeping in one of the tent. The experience was fantastic, the tent offers all the comforts of a luxury room and is a super romantic spot as you have a good privacy. Although it is in the jungle so if you are afraid of animals this is not your story, as beside being super clean, hunts, mosquitos or other small insects are all around. A second mention goes to the structure, food and pool. The resort is undoubtedly very beautiful, but as a personal note, on the mutual spaces is too big for my taste. I like more intimate and small boutique/resort so this during the day is a bit hetic and far from my idyllic place. The resort offers 2 restaurants and one big "buffet" dinner place, but for European/Italian ( and let me admit it, a bit spoiled) the buffet is not what we will associate to a luxury 5 star hotel. The staff is ok and always smiling as all Sri Lankan people, but not warm and friendly as we used to be treated during other stays in the country. The pool is magnificent. A real beauty, but can get quite busy in the central hours (and this is link to the fact the the resort is very big so there a lot of guests that want to benefit from it! ;-) ) Again, if you sleep in the tent this is a real beautiful and lovely experience, and I would definitely recommended.

Great stay, fantastic staff, excellent facilities
This was booked at the last minute as out tour rep had let us down so I booked it for the following day. What a phenomenal hotel, the vista is breathtaking and the premises is appointed to a very high standard. The staff are friendly, courteous and efficient. This was a high point during our trip and I would recommend this hotel to anyone

Great spot but poor food choices
This hotel is lovely and very good to see the sites around the cultural triangle. The only issue is that basically the food options are a buffet or a Chinese restaurant. Not ideal if you want an authentic Sri Lankan experience!

Amazing stay, the best hotel in Sri Lanka!
This place is stunning. I love the room - we stayed in the tent - it's clean, beautifully designed, surrounded by nature, calm, has a stunning pool, view of Sigiriya rock, amazing breakfast, very kind staff and attended all my requests. Really my favorite stay in the country.

Beautiful hotel and location. Poor service standards.
Things we liked: 1) The views from the lobby and restaurant area were beautiful. 2) The grounds and rooms were lovely 3) Perfect location for visiting Sigiriya, Dambulla, Polunaruwa and Anuradapura Things that we did not like: 1) We had no wifi access in the rooms 2) Way too many flies in the restaurant area. The staff response was something like "thats because you are eating the fish!" rather than doing something about it. 3) When I asked the reception staff to help find a local church to go for Sunday mass, the first response was "we are all Buddhists". I was so shocked. I told them I would be back in an hour and I would like to know this information. Upon return they did find a church in a particular area and when I asked for the address, they said they didn't know I needed that information! But if I asked anyone when I got to that area, they would be able to direct me. Overall staff need training to know how to help their guests. There was very little they could help with if you asked about local sights or anything. For the price paid, this is a basic requirement I think!

Nice hotel - mediocre food
Stayed at this hotel mostly for the pool and view. It is further from Sigiriya rock than I realized (good 20 min in car or tuk tuk). Pool has amazing views and was lovely. We also stayed in a family room with 2 beds up in the loft which was wonderful as well. These are the highlights of the place. This was our last hotel in Sri Lanka, and so were comparing the food to the prior 3. It was by far the worse. First, service for ala carte is slow. Took over an hour. Equally difficult to get water. Food was bland. Buffet (dinner and breakfast) were equally unimpressive. Desserts particularly poor, and not much interesting freshly made/grilled items. Furthermore, the flow of the food room (a glass cube with 2 large doors to open) was strange and cumbersome. My interactions with the staff felt like the smiles were forced and information was hard to come by. For example, asked the hostess at lunch if local food was available in the dinner buffet and all she could do is smile and say no idea. If I came to this area again, I would try a hotel closer to the rock with equally dramatic pool views.
