Never Coming Back !!
Sadly this place is in a really sorry state. Never book the higher category rooms, they are not worth it. Air Conditioning is underpowered and does not work to cool the rooms. Front desk staff is completely clueless about anything hospitality. Only nice thing was the food and waitress. Never coming back !!

Nice time
We stayed 5 nights. Staff was friendly and food was delicious. Pool was nice, and location on beach is awesome. Night swimming in the beach was our favorite. I've been to Thailand 15 times, and must tell you that there is a restaurant on opposite side of road, just north. It is attached to a "cooking school". It is "hands down" the best thai food I've ever had. A must try!

Pool, location and really nice staffs.
The location was great, pool was awesome, I get a partial view of the ocean which was nice. But the room was quite average, not dirty or anything like that. But there was hardly any decorations, tv was old, windows didn't all have a curtain, which means I can't keep the lights out when I want to - basically could make do with a little refurbishment.

Layout, location, beach and sea view rooms are great. Some renovations would put this resort to the next level (eg restaurant area). We had a good time there!

Wonderful
We found this hotel last year and were determined to come back and stay at the Andalay. We weren't disappointed and were pleased we'd booked for 9 days. Wonderful location, very friendly and helpful staff, very clean, spacious rooms. The swimming-pool isn't enormous but more than adequate and most times I used it I swam on my own. The rooms are spacious and the balcony area is large. Rooms are close to the pool, restaurant, bar and beautiful beach. Wi-fi is free and very good. Breakfast was excellent and was more than adequate for us. Lunches can be taken on your balcony or in your room or eaten in the restaurant. We didn't eat there in the evenings but we did last year and were happy with the selection and quality; there are so many restaurants close by you're spoilt for choice. (We can recommend the Yang Restaurant a short walk away.) All in all we were very happy there and will definately stay there again!

Wonderful
We stayed at the resort across the road last year (which we enjoyed) but thought the Andalay was so lovely we wanted to come back! We weren't disappointed! Good: Position, beach (beautiful), restaurant, size of rooms, cleanliness, very friendly staff and very helpful too, swimming-pool, general appearance and general ambience. Had breakfast which was one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. Lunch was good and freshly cooked. We didn't eat dinner there as there were so many places to eat within walking distance but we ate there last year and were very satisfied. Bad: Bit of a smell in the bathroom -- but it's Thailand, hot and it wasn't all the time. It didn't bother us and I only mention it as I thought I had to say something bad! The best meal we had there (and we found it last year) was Yang Restaurant -- about 300 metres away on the right (walking to the 7-11) and down a small lane. We can "highly" recommend it! We will return to Koh Lanta, Klong Nin Beach again and will "definately'' stay at the Andalay!
