Terms and conditions is not being informed clearly
Terms and conditions is not informed upfront. Poor advertisement. Towels and bed sheets need to be paid and check out need ourself to bring back the sheets to counter. Then why we pay for and wat service we pay for? I been travel to many countries, including 3rd world countries as well, but never encounter this before.. This is a very unpleasant stay at anker. I also saw a lot of poor comments. Will never recommend and repeat stay at ur Anker apartment.

Anker Apartment

Location. Free luggage storage. Convenience store inside reception.
The location is excellent, being in Grunerlokka, you can walk to central in 25 minutes. Trams/buses are a 5 minute walk away. Grunerlokka as a neighbourhood is full of bars, cafes, parks, restaurants and shops. The dorm was pleasant, the bed was comfortable and for a 20 bed dorm, it was quite spacious. The bathrooms were not clean at all...I used the shower twice in my 1 night stay, first when I arrived after a long 12 hour flight, and then again in the morning before check out, they were grim, full of hair, mud and generally unclean. I didn't see a cleaner the entire time I was there. Overall, for one night it is worth the £20 as there is not much choice at all in Oslo! Any longer, I wouldn't stay.

Poor customer service

Looks good
The place looks fancy but customer service is horrible. Since the bed linen is not included in price. I was not informed about its requirement when i checked in. And then at 6am the guy comes in dorm with torch. Waking people up without bed linen and treat you as criminals and force you to pay money. Worst experience ever.

Rough apartments

it was cheap!
Arrived apartment had stained pillows and uncovered mattresses. Police there about a previous incident. Unable to get refund: stayed elsewhere. Can you help?

Cheap solution in extremely expensive Norway

Price Cleanliness Availability
I had made a mistake with a previous reservation and i had to find a room 2 days before arriving to Oslo. The only cheap available place was Anker. I had never stayed in a hostel before and i was uncomfortable with the idea. Overall it was fine. You have to pay for bed sheet and towel once, 50+20 NOK. There is free wifi. It takes a considerable walk to arrive to the center. The place felt safe, i had no issues. Tip:Buy water at Kiwi Mini Pris, you can find 1.5lt for 11 Nok. There is also another small mini pris shop behind Anker which is open on weekends also, for similar price water.

Not too bad

cheapest, clean, kind receptionist
it was not too bad but the borrowing bed sheets was too expensive comparing to the price for 1 night. it costed 50 nok and for the tower 20 nok. so take some bed sheets and tower will help you economize your money. and also quite far from the center by walk. it cost 30 minute or more to be there so it would be better to take bus

Extremely simple

Was surprised to be asked for an additional NOK 50,- for bed linen, that I was given at the reception so that I could make my own bed, and I was also asked to remove the linen and hand it back to the reception the next day. The receptionist didn't like that I was surprised, and came across as quite rude because of it. OK, it's a budget hotel with extremly simple rooms, almost like prison cells, but they could have made more of it without raising the price. There are better hotels, more centrally located that have far better service, just a fraction more expensive.

very nice place

clean, security, impressive
The hotel is easy to reach with bus 30 Very clean bed and kitchen. Bathroom was clean and good. Staff were nice and friendly. They changed 50 for bed sheet that was not acceptable. There is a good food shop but not cheap. Mosque is very near by. Lockers were very limited. Could not find a big locker available to lock my carry on bag. They must have more lockers. I requested mixed dorm. But they put me on male dorm. So was not happy about this.
