Great value for money in a good location

Cleanliness, size, shower
We were a group of 3 and they gave us a huge room with 2 double beds. We paid about S$58 for a triple with breakfast which we thought was really value for money. We had arrived on the overnight bus and they served us breakfast immediately. The breakfast had a good spread but the down side is it's a tad too cold, and the coffee is not great. The staff did not really speak English but were certainly helpful enough. Hot shower was really good and wifi is strong. It is also very close to all the good restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great Room

Bathroom, Bedroom, Restaurant Area
I thought the hotel staff was very helpful, the bathroom was great from an American perspective, and the restaurant area was large and beautiful. I really enjoyed my stay.

Best in class

Location, comfort, plumbing.
First of all, this is Phonsavan, a provincial town that isn't flooded with tourists. The accommodations on offer are relatively modest -- and in this company, the Anoulack stands out. The location is ideal for a visitor, just off the main street (where most of the tolerable restaurants are) and a short walk from the new main market. The rooms are comfortable and well kept, and the reliable hot water is a real blessing in chilly weather. Laundry service is fast and capable. On the other hand, since Vong left there seems to be no one on the staff who speaks English. Breakfast is adequate but uninspiring. And in the older building the stairs are seriously uneven in height, so that a degree of caution is advisable. Overall I think it's the best choice for a visitor who isn't on a backpacker budget and wants to be within walking distance of the the downtown area.

Worth a try!,

Location, size of room, able to cater for a family of 4 in one room.
Stayed in new quarters. More modern and efficient. Breakfast was good and reception staff very accommodating including airport pickup.

Good location, decent breakfast, bad wifi

Close to big markets, good value, air conditioning worked well
I liked that this hotel was close to the big market with local vendors. It's also close to the big main street which has more food and retail offerings for tourists. Breakfast is great and the bread tastes good. The room itself is good-sized with nice air conditioning. The bathroom shower wasn't strong and the drain for the shower is next to the toilet. I don't like getting the bathroom floor all wet but it's where many hotels are going these days so... Two main issues were: 1)My parents stayed in a room where the entrance door didn't close easily. We had to force the door into the frame before locking. 2)The wifi is horrible by the elevator. Our room and my parent's room were next to the elevator and we barely had 1-2 bars worth of wifi reception. Reception was better in the hallways but we went out overnight and there was NO internet at all. My dad also noticed the cable not working overnight so I'm not sure if they turn off those services at night or not. Everything seemed to work in the morning (after 6am).

Sub-par stay in a big country town

Location close to eateries and transport to Plain of Jars; rooms were reasonable size (not too small)
We moved rooms several times until we found a room which was not a smoking room and one where the shower did not leak. We were originally put into a nice, large room with a good view and double-glazed windows to keep out the noise, but unfortunately, the shower leaked all over the floor and pooled because the drain didn't drain. We were originally in the old building (in a nice room) even though my booking was for the new building. Later, when we eventually were put into the new building, we had a room which was smelly (from open-type drains which is the style in SE Asia) and the dogs fighting outside and the roosters crowing. We probably would have had a good stay in our first nice room if the drain had worked. By the way, the new building rooms appear to be similar to the old building rooms, there seems to be no improvement in quality, style, etc.

Comfortable and Clean

Cleanliness, Comfort and Location
I stayed at this hotel on two nights in a one-week period both before and after I visited Sam Neua. I have stayed in Xieng Khouang previously to visit the Plain of Jars, and Muang Khoun. My stay at this hotel was enjoyable although the room on the first night was better than the one on the second night. This is because there was a problem with the toilet flushing, and the worker was never able to fix it. However, for the most part, the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was great, and the room had many amenities to keep the customer comfortable and happy. The hotel is within walking distance of a laundry, night market, day market, good restaurants and an internet cafe. It is also very close to a mini-bus station used to go to Sam Neua and back.

Staff was accommodating and helpful

The helpful staff, the room is clean and location convenient.
Our stay was comfortable and the wifi signal was one of best I experienced in Laos. You may borrow a hairdryer from the front desk. There's no electric kettle in the room but when we asked for hot water, the front desk staff disappeared into the kitchen and emerged with a jug of hot water and two cups. Location of hotel is just beside the bus terminal. Breakfast consists of Lao rice rolls, rice porridge, toasted baguette, fruits and some rather unappetizing hot dog sausages. No credit cards accepted. Overall, good value for the price paid.
