Lovely Hotel

Location, pool and rooms
The hotel is fabulous in a city we spent at least 1 too many days in. Having a pool was a delight and the hotel grounds are lovely. The staff are very lovely but need better training from management and they need more deck chairs around the pool. One day there were not chairs for the number of guests who wanted to relax pool side. Having been in the travel and hospitality business for over 25 years I do not make criticisms lightly. This was a perfect hotel for our needs and if I was ever to go back to Vietiane I would gladly stay here again and will recommend the Ansara to anyone going there.

Great choice in Vientiane

Nice atmosphere, good location, comfy rooms
Ansara is a very good choice when you stay in Vientiane. I think it's one of the best hotels in town. It's a quiet place, peaceful with swimming pool on walking distance of centre.

A Gem

Location; Beautiful Property
It's a gorgeous boutique hotel nestled in the hustle and bustle of the city. The inviting pool, the lovely breakfast, the comfortable rooms - all within minutes from the Mekong and some of the most significant sights in the city. I witnessed a pleasant scene at the hotel - when a guest's camera, lost at the dining area and could not be found by the staff, was finally located by another guest, the wait staff and the management took the trouble to personally thank the guest who found it. Nice gesture - one that gives guests like me the confidence that I am in good hands.

Charming oasis, great staff and ambience

Poolside, lobby bar and thoughtful staff.
Loved our time there. Little thoughtful touches, thanks John. Resting by the pool was a blessing, breakfasts and all meals delightful. Has a classic charming boutique ambience. You will love your stay at Ansara. The place to stay in Vientiane.

Excellent hotel

Ambiente, rooms, pool, service
Excellent stay in a small hotel with very nice rooms, great large pool, good service oriented staff (sometimes problems with English language) and good central location. Highly recommended for a stay

Lovely boutique hotel

Cosy setting: lovely garden & pool; free mini-bar and laptop
This place is great for romantic couples and even for solo travellers looking for a bit of time by themselves to relax and unwind. Its small size gives an intimate and cosy feel to the place. Staff are generally great. The standard rooms are a little on the small side as is the bathroom. Not cheap for Vientiane but you get what you paid for and the free mini-bar and laptop in your room are a big plus in their favour.

Great Location

Location, location, location
The location is prime, because it's near the river and its attractions, but it's quiet. That's a key factor in Vientiane, because many of the hotels near the riverfront are really loud. The restaurant is nice, although the staff sometimes is a little less than attentive to detail. For example, they forgot parts of my set menu. The room is standard, comfortable, although internet is spotty (to be fair, this is common in the hotels in Laos). The staff tried to once get me to check out of my room early (10:30, although check out time is noon). I suspect that they needed to give my room to someone else!
