Peaceful location but extremely small rooms
Room sizes are extremely small. Mosquitoes. Poorly lit corridors. Standard Garden view rooms sure don't provide the kinda value you would expect for the money paid. Pros - Friendly staff (which is the case across Thailand), Location - very peaceful.

Basic 'Bali-themed' surround
compact and clean rooms, good-sized pool
stayed for only 1 night as we were due to ferry out to Koh Racha the next day. strangely, the compound surrounds feels Balinese-inspired than Thai. the room was basic with simple furnishings with your standard cable channels though reception can be patchy. the pool is probably its biggest plus...impressive for a compound of this size. short 10mins walk to Chalong town with access to convenience stores, bars and a small night market.

Got what you need
Pool, beach front
This hotel location is on the beach but a bit aside from the main road. Atmosphere is holiday relax, a bit too much may be. Design is a bit mixed up thai, indonesian.

Nice pool, but not so great 5 floor rooms,
The Banglo room are great, but only had one night only.
Pro: >they had 2 swimming pools >They had nice banglo rooms. >the breakfast was fresh, cause they always re stock it once it run low. Con: >there were no clean beach at that area.(as the sand was dark and full of rubbish) >the fifth floor hotel rooms are too far up, no lift, Cause we 3 children and their grand parents to climb up 5 flight of stairs.. too taxing.(We booked 4 room) >The Night shift staff are not that smart (lousy services cause they did not explain proper the location of the rooms cause massive confusion and the Room key and breakfast coupon was not ready even we had informed them that we were arriving late) >the fifth floor rooms are having a lot of electrical problem (believe it is due to the water pump that cause 2 nights of black out) >Finally they had to change our room to the banglo type.. but that was still a mess. (as one staff tell us it ok to move and the other ask us to stay.... very confusing)

Nice quiet hotel
pool, staff
Room was very nice. Not a good beach. When tide is out, the beach is yukky. Long way to main road, however they provide golf cart service. When coming back to the hotel you will have to call the hotel for pickup from the main road. If you don't have a phone, this can be very difficult. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Steve (guest relations manager) was very helpful.

hotel away from everything
nothing comes to mind
stayed there only one night, hotel located far from everything, away from the beach and party scene. Stay there only if you're planning on remaining in the resort during your whole.Reserved to families and honymooners.

Better choices are available in Chalong Beach area
Friendly, helpful staff. Nice pool setting near the beach.
Aochalong Villa is a relatively small hotel, set back from the main road along a mostly unpaved road that takes about 5 minutes to walk to from the hotel. The hotel offers a free shuttle cart that will take you out to the main road. Unfortunately, we were unable to find a good restaurant after being dropped off at that point. The hotel restaurant is OK, but the restaurant staff has a hard time understanding English and some of the things we ordered were oddly prepared. Our room was rather cramped, and the hotel could use some minor repair work. WiFi worked reasonably well in our room. Chalong Beach, as with most beaches areas along the eastern side of Phuket, is mostly rocky and what little sand there is is apparently trucked in, so don't come expecting to take long pleasant walks along the beach.

Quiet and lovely hotel
great escape from the likes of patong beaches
arrived in the evening at aochalong after a day trip starting from patong. was quite surprised that the hotel was so far off the main road. check in to a room with garden view, and quite happy with the interior and balcony. have free wifi without need of password. took a little walk and found the place to be tranquil and charming thou not in the best maintenance. had a good look around the hotel the next day, and totally loved the pool near the beach, very nice view and good depth. the beach and seawater itself is not so welcoming, but we enjoyed the view enough to make up for it. initial booking was for 2 days but we ended up staying for 5days.
