Great little hotel, good value for money!!

Good ambience. Great location. Value for money.

A very compact hotel, and located in very narrow roads which will really task the skills of your taxi driver! It would not do for a long-term business trip because the "wardrobe" consisted of two hangers hanging from the little bracket on the door holding the rubber bumper stopping the door banging on the wall! The hotel is undergoing renovation, and when it's done I think it will be a really pleasant place to stay. The floor was bare wood, but the owner was telling me he'll have it all sanded down and lacquered up: it will look really attractive when it's done. There are washers and dryers. There are no restaurant facilities, but it's only a short walk up to the main road where there is a choice of eateries. Akebonobashi and Shinjuku Sanchome stations on the metro are both nearby. I had a small single, but no smaller than single rooms in the so-called business hotels. The bed was comfortable. There was a wall-mounted air conditioner with a remote control which worked really well. The room is fitted with a small galley working kitchenette. The bathroom was a small "unit bath", where everything is moulded into the one setup. It was just a trifle small, but I am just a trifle large ... I managed! The hot water was as hot as anyone could want, the shower was powerful, and shampoo/conditioner and shower gel were provided in push-top dispensers. There was also a toothbrush and paste and a packed, compressed sponge which expanded to make a good-sized body sponge. Entry to the hotel out of reception hours and late at night is via a keypad, and likewise entry to the rooms. As I was checking in late, I got the codes sent to me by email a couple of days before going, and all worked as it should. I would definitely consider staying there again, because the value for the money makes it a really good deal. The internet was free and fast, so work on a laptop or pad would be possible at the table. In short, a great hotel for short-stay business-folk, and upmarket backpackers!

A pretty special place

Location, clean, unique
7.3
I've stayed here twice and most likely I'll stay here again when I get back to Tokyo. Cheap, clean and with an excellent location in Shinjuku. True, in someways it's not like any ordinary hotel. I never fully understood what the owners do, I think it's some sort furniture repair shop or art workshop during the day. Which means the hallways are filled with old furniture and all sorts of things. Guess it's not for everyone but I think it gives the hotel a nice bit of character.

Excellent location but...

Location, location, location!

Close to major subway and JR train stations as well as the major shopping area in Shinjuku. Perhaps good for people who don't have lots of luggage (no elevator) and don't mind living in a university residence setting.

I loved it!

Location, staff, accessing the hotel
8.7
I loved this place. As someone who used to live in Japan for several years, I would have loved to have an apartment in such a great location. The hotel manager was very kind and sweet and helpful. The room is micro-mini, but if you are used to living in small spaces, are a solo traveler, and spend more time out and about, it's not a problem. The rooms and the hotel itself was clean and neat, and the staff was helpful and accommodating. I liked how there was an option to check in even if you had to arrive late, and the ease of getting into the room. I will definitely stay here again!

Hip & affordable hotel

The wifi works great, the bed was comfy and it's not too far off shinjuku station

It's my first time here in Japan and I was looking for something affordable and comfortable. This hotel was a good start, it looked hipster(lol) with a concept store on the first floor. There were no keys(for mine at least) the door used a number code. I was alone so the space was sufficient for me. They even put a universal adaptor in the room for me which was awesome as I needed to charge my phone (however, I realise that huge adaptors tend to slack downwards at electrical plug-in points so I used my smaller adaptor) It's just a 10 min walk from shinjuku station, but do check the map as you need to know which alley to enter that'll lead you to the hotel. I had no problems with finding the place. It's near shinjuku gyoen( the large park) and the malls around shinjuku station. I would definitely come back here if I come to Tokyo again.

Perfect location and value

The hotel have a very unique style and the staff I met was very kind and the room enough spaceful and clean.
7.3
It was very good stay and I definitely plan to come back again. The location is very close to the main shinjuku station and to shopping and restaurant area. It s very convenient. The only things that can be not so convenient for people who are fat is the bath tub wich in the room 310 I found it pretty narrow and I am a average Italian guy. Overall I think I fall in love with this place cause they got a nice wooden old style design forniture so cool and we'll matched and care for details. Like cables plug Colors towel and hairdryer. Amazing
