Nice oasis in the middle of the noisy city
Pool was quiet & the hotel is well located but the staff didnt have customer service on its mind at all. Suites are overpriced, we wanted a first floor smaller room poolside but they were all booked. I would choose that room type if you can.

An experience
Stay in faded grandeur with storm military atmosphere. Great jazz nearby. Some good food close by.
A spooky experience that's different to other hotels. Worth doing for a couple of nights but over priced.

Superb location
The location was great, being near good resturants and not far from Hoan Kiem lake, good size swimming pool, and big rooms with bath tub.
Quite dated, but good all round stay.

Room is cleaned but some staff are dishonest on food price and transportation service.

Business stay
Location, pool (only 2)
Reasonable. Breakfast is poor, food is poor, mattress on the bed is cheap and their laundry service is poor (no ironing).

Qiet, clean, spacious, comfortable.
Location, natural setting on cul de sac near the centre.
I will go back again and have recommended to colleagues and friends. My stay was comfortable and the staff were helpful and gracious.

A bit of a gem
VFM pool breakfast
This is a bit of a gem and very good value from money. Tucked down a side street behind the opera house it is within a five minute walk of the lake, which deters the Lonely Planet brigade. Breakfast is excellent, superb bread and all rooms have a balcony facing a very nice pool. In places the rooms are a bit tatty, chipped tiles etc but they represent vfm. The Museum Cafe along the street is excellent for lunch

One night business trip in Hanoi
Quiet place, city centre, swimming pool
Just for one night in Hanoi, I was happy to find my usual hotel unchanged since last January. With the Spring weather, I could now use the outdoor pool in the early morning before going to work and on back home in the evening.
