Unprofessional staff; Rat in room!
Location, parking, spacious room
We stayed on New Year's Eve. Reception didn't look welcoming at all. The people at the reception looked unprofessional (informal clothes, slippers) and when they found out I booked through Agoda, they had to find the price I paid online to find the room closest to the rate I paid. The room was spacious, however, the bedsheets looked worn and old. I was aghast when I saw a tiny mouse run across the room from under the fridge! A male staff came to catch the mouse with just a broom. When he didn't find it, he left and said the mouse must have already gone out of the room. An hour later, the mouse reappeared. Another male staff came with a broom, but also failed to catch the mouse. Frustrated and freaked out by this, I just asked for us to be transferred to another room. We moved to a smaller but newer and cleaner room downstairs. In fairness, they were gracious enough to move the fridge from our original room (the smaller room did not have any). Another comment I have is that the management appear to be letting the staff's children in the hotel lobby while the parents are at work. The kids stay there for hours watching TV. I find this to be disruptive to the staff's duties as they would go there from time to time to care for their kids. Overall, bad stay and poor value for money. I'm never going to stay in this hotel again.

Desperate times
Easy access, easy access, easy access
The place is gloomy, the aircon is terrible, no wifi access in rooms, the bed and pillow are like rocks, the free breakfast is a joke, unprofessional staff, pool with floating cockroaches.

Not worth the price paid. Staff are Clueless
Just location
Staff cannot recommend places to visit. They are clueless about Tagaytay and bookings done via Agoda. The breakfast option is traditional but very very limited. No shampoo provided. Agoda rooms listed are not the same with the actual rooms. They changed their name to Aroma Hotel Tagaytay but the service standard is more appropriate for a hostel.

Comfortable stay
Cleanliness,Space, Location
The Aroma Apartelle is known as a backpacker / budget hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised by the ample and clean accommodations at the cheap price. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, though--tiny servings and agonizingly slow service. The staff was friendly, just not fast. The pool was great but it was dirty when we decided to take a dip. It was a bit slimy and the pool floor tiles were slippery so it was a bit dangerous for those who didn't know how to swim. We notified the staff and the next day they were in the process of replacing the water when we left. Overall it was a satisfying stay for us, we just wish that we could have enjoyed the pool more.

ok hotel but noisy neighbors!
cheap, clean rooms, nice staff
The rooms are clean, I think we stayed in the new building, although there were some floors still being constructed as of that time. It has a nice view deck, nice swimming pool. The breakfast served had small portions though (the daing na bangus served was only 1/4 portion and the tocino had only about 5 small pieces of pork). But the hotel was no problem, the big problem was the noisy neighbors! All throughout our stay, the videoke sounds from nearby house (I think they're illegal settlers, they're sprouting everywhere in Tagaytay and destroying the view of Taal lake!) it was blasting up until 3am and came back to life at exactly 7am the next day! We complained to the staff about it, seems they can't do anything? Can't they at least refer it to some barangay officials or better yet, to the police, since its been bothering their guests all night?

Good, comfortable
The view, parking, price
According to the staff, they didn't receive a notice from Agoda. Fortunately they still had a room available.
