Noise from railway ruined an otherwise nice stay

Location price clean
It would have been good if not for the noise. I'm not sure about the other rooms but ours was very noisy. The train tracks are right beside the hotel and our room would shake when a train goes past. The hotel provided earplugs which was a help but even then you had to keep the windows closed aswell as yor earplugs to be able to sleep and that made the room very stuffy as it was summer. The decor was good and the staff very helpful

Semi good hotel

We staid in room 208, which was directly next to the railway, which means in Berlin all night traffic. At least the window was quite good isolated, but not the bathroom whose door was as sealed as a barn door. Also was the room not really clean and the AC was last time used/maintained when they moved in, otherwise the mold coming out of it is not explainable. But the best was the room itself, which must be designed by a poor being, which parents must have lived the 70s dream, because the room looks like a wet dream of each end 60/70 room designer. Ok, the room was missing the round table and chairs, but this must have been because of the lack of space.

Great place to stay

The location was brilliant, close to transport & in walking distance to Brandenburg Gateand nightlife.Quirky decor befitting an art hotel.
Brilliant place to stay. It is walking distance to Main train station. Close to all transport and many restaurants, cafes and bars. Great rooms and if you book a room with share facilities, they are very clean. One thing to consider is that some rooms aren't air conditioned but fans are provided and windows open to a beautiful ivy covered courtyard Recommended, i will stay there again if i go back to Berlin

Clean, comfortable and very central

Location, affordability, design
Travelling on business, I had booked one of the budget single rooms with a shared bathroom, so you get what you pay for, but it was spotlessly clean, peaceful and the wi-fi worked perfectly. Great location, just a short walk to Friedrichstrasse, Brandenburg Gate, Tiergarten and Potsdamer Platz. Friendly, efficient staff; bright, quirky space. No complaints.

An exceptional experience!

Its character, its helpful staff, and its history over nearly 200 years
Too brief! I hope to return soon. The hotel is exceptionally well-located, is stylish and has retained (while updating) its character. The staff are wonderful. Bravo!

Bad experience, and worst hotel I've ever been to.

We booked a double room with 1 bed, and they gave us 2 single beds and informed us that there were no other rooms available. Worse still, the room is next to the railway, even though they provided ear plugs, we closed the windows, the noise was still disturbing. Don't even mention that you will feel your bed trembling when the train passes by. Luckily we only stayed there for 1 night.Definately not recommend this hotel to anyone, you can get much better hotels with this range of price.

Very comfortable. Clean room with an arty edge.

The decor, the affordable price and the great location (right in the city centre).
I enjoyed my stay. The decor, the affordable price and the great location (right in the city centre). Please note that it is a little noisy as the rooms face the train tracks - but it's not that big a deal.

fantastic, too short

Location, staff, ambience
We were extremely happy here. The hotel is very near various public transportation and within walking distance of several popular sights. The staff were incredible. The only negative I can think of is the proximity to the train, but the hotel provides earplugs, and I slept just fine. Everything was clean and comfortable. We lamented having to leave.

Nice place to stay for a while

Clean room; close to many attractive sites; beautiful garden
Close to the central berlin and good for visiting many sites. Bar and restaurants can be found easily while walking along the river. Internet can be accessed from room, which is quite good for business trip. The bad thing is the location is right beside the railway, and could be noisy even at night.
