Comfortable stay in a very convenient location

Location, right next to Heuston station; pleasant, helpful staff; comfortable room with view across to Guinness Brewery
I picked the hotel for its location, and because it had been recommended by colleagues. I'd definitely book there again - my room was spacious and very comfortable, and even had a little balcony that I didn't notice until the next morning! I didn't eat there, so the 3 score above is just because the site doesn't have a "not applicable" button. Don't be put off by the vertigo-inducing corridor carpet pattern (on the 5th floor, at least) - it's not at all typical of room decor, which is neutral. A good base for touring if you find Temple Bar etc. a bit rowdy - not nearly so many drinking/dining options right on your doorstep, but cosy and welcoming after a day out.

Fantastic hotel for family of 4 adults.

Breakfast is lovely and reasonably priced. Location is good. The service provided by the Malaysian lady who worked in the Hotel was excellent.
Car park a bit cramp for bigger size car. Overall will come back again as the pricing we got from Agoda was reasonable.

Comfortable hotel in a convenient location

Breakfast, location to city, convenient for tram and bus
We had a flying visit to Dublin and stayed at the Ashling for one night - we were travelling with our 2 daughters and they put us up in a room with a double bed and 3 singles so there was plenty of space. The Ashling is close to the Hop-on, hop-off bus stop 18 and we made use of that and the tram stop which was also near by. There was plenty of parking, the staff were very professional and friendly - breakfast was very good too.

No early checkin and staff didn't do much to help

The lobby, bar and restaurant were beautiful. The car park is attached to it. Very close to the Luas and train station
We needed to get a bus to a concert at 2:30, we had to change and get ready before the concert but we could not check in because check in time was 3 o clock. I rang the hotel 2 days before hand to ask if we could check in early and the staff said that should be no problem but when we arrived the room wasn't ready until 2 o clock and we missed our bus to the concert and the reception staff did not do much to help us out.

Nice Dublin hotel

Good location. Delicious breakfast. Tidy and clean room and hotel interior.
I enjoyed my stay at The Ashling, despite there being no air-conditioning (a small desk fan is provided). Found out later, in my travels through UK, that this is common. Oh well. Breakfast was delicious, with [as they claim] over 100 items to choose from. Good value meal too. Breakfast Staff were very efficient, friendly and courteous. Very enjoyable experience. Location is good; very close to Heuston Rail Station, and to Light Rail Stop. Walking into Grafton Street was easy and safe. Even walked all the way from hotel to Aviva Stadium for AC/DC concert, and back later that night. The hotel kindly offered 'After Concert Food Specials' for the Seedie fans. Nice touch. Would recommend The Ashling to Dublin travelers.

Short stay in Dublin

Clean; friendly staff; close to all attractions
It was a great stay, hotel is not located in the town centre but is easy to take tram to get to the main street. It is closer to Guinness factory, Dublin Zoo, and can take a nice walk along the river to all the tour places like Trinity college and Temple bar.

Everything was great except the meal we had after a night out on the town. It was 11:40 PM and the restaurant closed at Midnight. After trying to get food we were told the only thing available for us was a Roast Beef Sandwich. We agreed only because we were hungry but the food was horrible. Although the hotel was very clean and the staff was fairly good, I would never stay here again.
