Pool, Rooms, Golf, Cinema. Always enjoy coming here, fantastic setup on a grand scale. Maybe not cheap but you get what you pay for. Always play golf when i come here and always quite and staff very accommodating. Pool is just fantastic and never feels busy. Not a tremendous lot to do in Brunei but plenty to do at the resort and an added bonus is there is an excellent cinema showing latest movies.
Hotel Feature Tip : Remember to wear non slippers to breakfast as quite strict.

The room is very nice, spacious, hotel staff very friendly. The distance from the reception to the room is quite far, not very ideal for old people, toilet is very smelly and food quite expensive especially for us Malaysian. Nothing very attractive, only thing is very relaxing but very boring at nite no entertainmnet. Frankly speaking the hotel consider very expensive, they should include breakfast if the rate so expensive. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is not very accessible to shopping centre and restaurant. This hotel only good for those who wants to escape from city life.

Empire is a majestic hotel with huge spaces, beautiful rooms, lovely oversized beds, very big bathrooms. The grounds are great for a stroll. If you need a break to just relax, wonderful. Due to the sheer size, it can take 10 minutes to walk from your room to the recepteion or restaurants. The swimming pool was under renovation at the end of September. It was also towards the end of Ramadan - so the hotel seemed to run on low batteries. Few guests, empty restaurants, no entertainment. It is also out of the way. You cannot stroll into town without getting a car first. Staff is very efficient and nice, but everything is very business like. No cool towel on arrival, no welcome drink. The receptionist takes forever to sort out her paper work. Be prepared to do A LOT OF WALKING. Everything is almost oversized: The huge atrium with restaurants on several levels, the long corridors to reach your room. When I was there I felt I was getting lost. Almost no other guests to be seen. Spa closed at 8 pm. Lobby area where you could sit and enjoy a (non-alcoholic) dring - empty. It feels a bit like being in a bubble away from real life.
Travel tip : it really helps to have a rental car here to get away if you want to see the sights of Bangar or some real life.
