Big clean rooms - luxurious environment
too far from the city (if you want to visit it)
This is a great hotel ... if you're not looking for something intimate. It's HUGE => to go there for a romantic getaway ! You feel a little lost amid all those rooms but it's very confortable: food is great, pools are great, rooms are great.
If you want to see the city though, be ready to pay for expensive taxis: the city is about 20-30 minutes way by car and there's no shuttle. Only one bus every 3 hours => taxis are much more convenient but awfully expensive.

Remote control curtains!!
It was too far away from anywhere/everywhere
The Empire is absolutely stunning, the rooms massive and luxurious, with so many small touches to make your stay extra comfortable. The bathroom was bigger than most hotel rooms and the marble corner bath was incredible. The pools are beautiful but quite shallow so hard to have a proper swim. The poolside 'bar' was lovely but sadly not a bar..
Nightlife Tip : There isn't one.

Nice atmosphere, beautiful grounds, very peaceful
This was a very nice hotel that my husband and I stayed at while visiting Brunei for the weekend. It has beautiful grounds with amenities of a country club and even an onsite movie theatre. The rooms were very spacious with a large bathroom and was very clean. Overall it was a nice stay for the weekend.

Very exclusive hotel with various facilities. I did not mind to spend the whole day at the hotel and the scenery is very nice. Able to provide me a stress-free environment. The most important, the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is abit far from town and the internet line is very slow.

The palace is open to the public during the month of the King's birthday.
Travel tip : The nearby Royal Brunie Golf Club is challenging.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, but first impressions were bad and caused by inexperienced check-in staff.
Travel tip : the food at the main dining room on the Atrium middle level was great and the wait service was efficient and polite.

It is a great hotel to stay with a wide range of facilities and luxury to offer. However the general service quality is not even up to 4 star standard and unmatched to the hotel's luxury image.

As ballyhooed seven-star hotel that was a great hotel. And to clean the room well in Brunei with no concept of service, hoteliers could quickly respond.
