Health and safety must be a priority when travelling abroad which Amanjaya Hotel failed to provide.

  • Shopping Tip : Near Amanjaya hotel is a superb local market displaying fresh local produce.

Directly outside of the hotel it is really easy to "hail" any kind of transport you wish to use. Taxis are less common but the hotel can usually call a cab for you with reasonable notice. If you are visiting the sights and have limited time do check the opening times - many are closed at lunchtime. A great way to get your bearings is to let one of the many tuk tuk drivers actually take you around - these are inexpensive and a great way to get orientated.

  • Restaurant Tip : There are many excellent restaurants literally round the corner from the hotel all along the waterfront.

The standard of the rooms cannot be faulted, elevator means access is easy - all rooms have balcony and river view, though construction works= on river bank rather spoils this at the present. Lots of restaurants, bars, and cafes nearby.

  • Shopping Tip : Phnom Penh Central Market for a huge range of tourist things (arts and crafts, silks etc) and great fake watches!

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Don't worry about tours, just jump is a taxi and they'll drive you around for the whole day for about USD30...much cheaper and easier option. No need for tour guides as everything is well sign posted.

The Amanjaya is a well located hotel. It is withing walking distance to the palace and the river area. The room size is good and it has a nice view. Breakfast is served as a 3 course meal, nothing to complain about that. All in all it is a good hotel for the price you pay, but it lacks a swimming pool.

Nice business hotel. Good restaurant as well. Great location and clean hotel. As we found out during our third stay in Asia, always bring earplugs.

Plenty of Tuk Tuk drivers waiting across the road to take you where ever you want to go.

  • Restaurant Tip : The restauarant had great food and was very pleasant to eat in, with reasonable prices. You can eat much cheaper elsewhere but we though it was a good place to eat.
