This river front area is surrounded with gardens where people come out for strolls in the late afternoon. The rooms at the Bougainvillier Hotel are also touted for their large spaces and charming Asian decor and furniture as well as standard amenities like air conditioning, Internet access and televisions. Good situation, lovely rooms, lovely decor, very friendly, helpful staff speaking good English.Excellent restaurant.
Walking into the Bougainvillier hotel was a good experience, the decor was comfortable and the staff made you feel very welcome. Check-in was easy and the room was more than adequate with attractive decor. For a single person the four-poster bed was a luxury. The attention and help from the staff made exploring the area much easier and they organised or tickets for the boat and our reservation for the next hotel in Siem Reap. Their ability to speak and understand English is excellent.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Suggest going to S21 prison before going to Killing Fields to put it into context. Do watch the video at the Killing Fields.

Room on 4th floor, no wi-fi as promised, toilet over-flowed, staff not particularly helpful
Lovely room but expensive given the 4th floor back of hotel location, lack of wifi as promised and ineffective plumbing
| Bougainvillier Hotel, a nice place to stay. |

Rooms (size, decor, cleanliness), breakfast, staff, location.
Hot water could be in short supply.
The Bougainvillier Hotel was an oasis of tranquillity within a hectic environment known as Phnom Penh. The staff arranged petals on our bed for our anniversary, congratulated us and were most charming. This attitude remained the norm from all staff throughout our stay.
The room was absolutely fantastic, very large, beautifully appointed with quality Cambodian furniture and polished wood throughout, it was spotlessly clean at all times and had good views of the river.
Breakfast was a delight with choices of English, Continental, Cambodian and as much as you could eat, setting you up for a busy day of sight seeing, the evening meals were equally good.
I would recommend this hotel for those who like a good quality service and surroundings.
