nice and clean rooms, good location, friendly staff
no elevator (especially if room is on the fourth floor), stuffy staircase, small breakfast
Hotel is nicely furbished and conveniently located on the rive quai, with major attractions and good restaurants within walking distance. Staff is friendly and will carry your luagage to your room (good if it is on the fourth floor)

The Hotel is very central located close to royal palace and national museum. Many Bars and Restaurants are next to the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.
Comparing to other hotels in the area the bougasinvillier is slightly a bit overprized.
A good place to stay if you are the first time in Pnom Penh. Centrally located, close to many attractions and some good restaurants and bars. The area is developping fast. The hotel staff was very freindly and helpfull.

Great central location.
Friendly staff.
Exercise from walking up four flights of stairs.
Smell in the lobby reminded me of my aunts giving each other perms.
Exercise from walking up four flights of stairs; however, the staff was eager to help with our luggage.
We needed a hotel just for a night (change in plans) and decided to stay here because of its location and it was one of the cheaper hotels in the area (and looked nice in the pictures). We previously stayed at a more expensive nearby hotel.
The hotel was fair and served its pupose. Could have benefited from an elevator; however, the staff was so helpful in taking all our luggages up the four flights of stairs. Uncertain what the smell in the lobby was, but at least the rooms didn't smell. The rooms, and hotel overall, were clean. The breakfast was yummy - and they were kind enough to let us take it away (in napkins) so we could make our flight.
Overall, it's a good place if you just need somewhere to sleep. Nice location to restaurants, bars, shops and Royal Palace. Okay value for price for Phnom Penh.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Check out street 240 near the Royal Palace; Rubies Wine Bar - small corner wine place; The Chocolate store is about 5 doors up from the wine place and is the 'coldest' place in town with yummy chocolate! The Cantina along the river has a great selection of tequilas. You have to try Friends - it's a great restaurant for a good cause and has a fresh selection of food. A good silk shop is Sentosa Silk where you can buy by the metre.

Suites are large with two tvs. Very clean and good balcony view of river. Staff are very helpful.
Noisy and needs an elevator. Also, very little hot water. Breakfast could use a little variety even though it is generally good.
Hotel Feature Tip : If you stay on the 3rd floor, its really the 4th floor. The 1st floor is one flight up from the lobby.

Helpful staff under circumstances beyond their control.
Too expensive, no lift, cable TV bad reception, small room, bad location.
The room I got was nothing like the internet pictures. I booked a deluxe room & it was very poor quality. I paid double the amount I paid in another hotel in Pnomh Penh, of superior quality. The cable TV had very poor reception. The bath was broken. The staff did their best to fix the problems but it was just poor quality for the price. We moved to another location asap.

noicy and somewhat "cold" atmosphere
the hotel is well located to visit by foot the major attractions (old market, palace, silver pagoda, national m,useum). its location directly on the waterfront is in the busy restaurant and bar area and somewhat noicy. Traffic in front of hotel (suite rooms) and busy commercial street in the back(regular rooms). Staff is helpful and decoration of hotel with antique furniture is nice but gives a cold atmosphere. Would recommend only for short stays. There are nicer, cheaper and more atmospheric hotels with swimming pool not far away.
Restaurant Tip : Nice Italian coffee shop 150 meters down the waterfront at the ground level of the the FCC (Foreign Corespondents Club) building

Location - style of room - friendly and helpful staff.
No lift! Dated and rather scruffy bathroom with insufficient hot water. Extremely hard and uncomfortable bed. Very low powered hair dryers. Very disappointing breakfast.
Could be a much better hotel than it is, with a bit of upgrading and more attention to detail. The suite rooms are delightfully appointed, but the beds are old and hard, as are the pillows, and need replacing. Staff very nice but the lack of attention to details such as above let's the hotel down. Breakfast was appalling, with broken toaster, and very limited choice of "buffet". Excellent location.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Great location overlooking the river, but compared to say The Quay hotel next door (where we also stayed) this hotel is a disappointment.

Excellent location right on the waterfront, walking distance to all amenities and attractions.
No elevator makes staying on the 4th floor a little bit of a chore... No pool... What do you expect for cheap though?
Was very happy with the location of this "boutique hotel". Right on the riverfront strip and walking distance to some great restaurants and bars, the Silver Palace and other such attractions. The staff were very helpful - thankfully carried my luggage up the four flights to my room (no elevator!). The breakfast included was just fine and the dinner menu looked awesome although I did not dine there. If I was returning to Phnom Pehn I would stay here again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Want to make a difference? Walk to the Childrens' Hospital (behind the Silver Palace) and donate a pint of blood - a priceless, un-corruptible gift to the children of Cambodia!

Pleasant dining room and good buffet breakfast
Most disappointing French cuisine, and wine from the two-page wine list is not available by the glass.
This hotel consists of three separate single shop fronts which means going out on to the street from reception to go to another entrance a few doors down to get to your room, and another to go to the restaurant. The dark back bedrooms with no outlook are depressing, so for the second day I paid the extra for a suite that was much better. With no lift, no swimming pool and very ordinary food this hotel is overpriced. The greatest frustration is the very few of the staff who understand even simple English. At a hotel of this standard at least the reception staff should be fluent.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Be sure to check the opening times before going to the Royal Palace. It closes for several hours in the morning till 2 pm when it re-opens.

Nice suite with balcony, view of riverside, not too far to the palace and convenient to find eating place.
A construction site locates just in front of the hotel, too noisy and too many dusts. Besides, no elevator in hotel, you have to carry the luggage by stairs, which is painful.

Staff were friendly enough, rooms were quite old but had a nice feel to them, also the river view ones were the biggest rooms I have ever seen. Well Located too, unfortunately breakfast was a let down, but it filled a hole I suppose.

Great location
Tidy and tasteful room
Good price through Agoda - the hotel rates are otherwise fairly upmarket
Restaurant very westernised
Rooms at the back show market/parking
Our room at Bougainvillier was very clean and decorated with a lot of style with Asian type furniture and features. The location on the riverside makes access to restaurants and touristical places (Royal Palace, National Museum, Central Market) enjoyable. At this standard, the hotel could have a pool... The food at the restaurant is western (French). Team welcoming but not very helpful (wrong information on taxi rates for instance). The rates when booking directly at the hotel are high and barely negociable.
