Nice hotel shame about the building works
By the river, nicely furnished room, nice restaurant attached, by the river
7.7
This is a nice hotel in a good location next to the river. The room is furnished to a good standard. There is wifi, but only in reception. In the rooms they have a cable for wired internet if you are using a laptop or similar. The hotel is next to the river and there are plenty of bars and restaurants along the river were you get a nice breaze. The big downside was the building work next door which started (everyday including Sunday) shortly after dawn and was loud enough to wake me up.
Shopping Tip:
Try Phsar Ouressey market as an alternative to the main central market. It is less touristy and the prices are 20%+ cheaper.

Bouganvillier
Good value for the money, friendly staff
7
The Bounganvillier located by the river provides a good view from the front rooms. It is a very cosy, clean, comfortable and quiet small hotel with the usual services and internet. The staff is wonderful and hepful either by helping ypou with your bags or providing directions and arranging transportation, either by taxi or tuk-tuk. The dinning room complements the ambience of the hotel and provide a very good breakfast, I never had lunch or dinner at the hotel but I understand the foood to be good. You will meet business people and travelers from several parts of the World. I liked my time at the Bounganvillier and I intend to return.

Make sure you get a room facing the river.
The included breakfast is pretty good.

The Boganvillier is in a good location next to the river front. However the river front park across the road from the hotel is under development at the moment (April 2010). There are many restaurants near by as well as the Royal Palace and Museum.
There is absolutely no problem getting a Tuktuk or Moto to take you to the other sites in the city. In fact you will be mobbed every time you walk out the door. There is no elevator in the hotel either. So if you have any kind of difficulties climbing stairs this is not the place for you.
Hotel Feature Tip:
On the day you check out of your hotel there will be a taxi that you have never seen before miraculously appear just at your check out time. Do not get into this taxi. I have heard rummers that they are set up by the hotel staff and the hotel staff get a cut from that taxi drivers. This is completely unfair to the Tuktuk drivers and regular taxi drivers who work all day for those rides. I also heard they were possibly connected to gangsters and will rob you on the way to the airport, but that may have just been a bit of a tale from the Tuktuk drivers. Something to consider though.

Great Hotel
Great location, staff very friendly and helpful. Great rooms, clean and spacious. Good brekky
9.7
From the moment we arrived we were greeted with huge smiles and enthusiasm. We received a lovely cold cloth to wipe our hands on and cool our faces as it was quite hot when we were there, and we also received a free cold drink. Rooms are lovely and spacious and clean. Great location. Breakfast was quite good as well. Would recommend to any of my friends and family.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You are walking distance to the Silver Pagoda and Royal Palace. Well worth the visit. Also easy to organise a tuk tuk to take you to the Killing Fields and Genecide Museum.

not too bad
pretty clean, AC, good location

Everything seems to happen along the river front and from thsi point of view the hotel is well located, easy walk to night life and the Royal Palace. The rooms are large, clean, pleanty of tv channels, AC and a fan, not the cheapest and not many other facilities to talk about but if you just want a room its fine - breakfast is worth missing

Hotel does not have elevators
Good Location, attractions such as the Royal Palace, many nearby restaurants, stores.
6.7
This hotel is located in a main street right on the river side, it is near to historical places, restaurants, bars, stores, etc. The breakfast consisted of a mix of cereals, bread, eggs ham and sausage, fruit, as well as a few traditional Asian breakfast dishes. Unfortunately my staying here was not as pleasant as I was expected because my room was on the top floor and the hotel does not have elevators besides the night manager was not very helpful and a bit aggressive in her sales approach. I will probably look for another alternative next time I am in Pnom Penh.

Bougainvillier Hotel
Nice room decor, helpful staff
7.7
Right off the waterfront, some nice restaurants around, nice room decor and ambience, unfortunately no elevators and climbing up the stairs is a pain. Breakfast is passable, even though can be improved.

We didn't know what to expect and this was one of our favorite hotels on our month long journey. The rooms were big and had the most charming furniture and deco. Very French and fun. The breakfast was outstanding...all the food was very high quality.

overpriced
Excellent breakfast (French touch...)
Location (next to all main landmarks in the city center)

The room was overpriced. Breakfast was excellent but I do not think it justifies the price.
