The Cambodiana hotel is very near to our business point and very comfortable to travel and go to every places.

Decoration style is quite normal but it o.k.

The Cambodiana hotel is very close to Airport and very comfortable when you need to traveling or go to any Business point or government office. Superior room is quite normal decoration style but it clean, calm and good for relax. It have wireless internet service for Businessman which is very goods point. It's near to many good restaurant. Moreover, price for this hotel is very reasonable when compare which other same standard hotel.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Cambodia Museum.

Service is good at the hotel. Rooms are clean although they are somewhat outdated. The breakfast buffet is good and the location is decent.

Room decor could use updating.

We only stayed here for a short time. The rooms were clean and the service was good. Not quite up to 5 star standard we were expecting. The rooms could use some renovations. A/C was good (Phnom Pehn is hot...so that was nice). Elevators were slow and so was the service at times, but at least the staff was friendly. The rooms aren't that pretty, but they work. However, we were expecting a little more for the money.

Restaurant Tip : There are several good restaurants located on the street w/the hotel. Just walk along the water and stop where you want! The Khmer restaurant located under Pacharan was excellent!

Good view of Mekhon river

Very cold inside room

I enjoyed staynig here very much. Air conditioning of the room I stayed was too cool, rather cold, you can switch off it. It may be good for the environment preservation, though.

river view, large rooms, nice staff.

looking old and tired.

this hotel is fine, great location and comfortable. It could do with some refurbishment: bathroom, carpets and curtains look old and tired. Nevertheless, the hotel is comfortable and clean.

Rooms of reasonable size with 2 beds that could accommodate a family of 4

Large, impersonal hotel. Taxi has to stop at the main entrance, so we had to carry bags inside ourselves in the rain. Food vastly over-priced

On arrival, the taxi could not enter the hotel grounds as there was a wedding function taking place and only wedding guest cars were allowed in. This meant that we had to walk from the main road up to the hotel with all of our luggage. In the rain! The room was clean, and contained 2 beds that could accommodate a family of 4. However, this was the only plus point. The staff were not particularly friendly (although they did speak good English), and everything in the hotel was vastly over-priced compared with other hotels we used and bars/restaurants outside - conservatively three times the price of other restaurants. Breakfast was buffet-style and acceptable rather than good.

Hotel Feature Tip : Try another hotel! The Amanjaya Pancam is much better, if you do not need the swimming pool.

Located on Mekong river, walking distance to Museum and Royal palace, bub street.

A bit tired looking.

Very big hotel, Excellent location, good views of the river, has seen better days. There is another hotel next to it (?Himavari) which looks very new. The room should face the river though. Food is very good, there is a wine shop and bakery shop in the hotel.

Beautiful pool and outdoor areas. Magnificent views of the Mekong River. Breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from and all delicious and fresh. Spacious, clean rooms.

Very difficult to communicate with staff as they spoke very poor English

The Cambodiana Hotel is located in a beautiful area on the Mekong River and very close to the river front shops and restaurants. Although I enjoyed my stay there, I would not choose to stay here again. I found the prices extremely expensive and couldn't even afford to have a drink or lunch around the pool. I found communication with staff at the hotel very difficult as they spoke very limited English. The pool and tennis court facilities were fantastic and definately a highlight of my stay. Breakfast was also fantastic but definitely wouldn't have been able to afford it if it was not included when I booked. All in all, my experience was good but would recommend this hotel for people on business trips rather than families or young people like myself.

Nightlife Tip : For overseas travellers, the FCC (Foreign Correspondence Club) is a great night spot to meet people over a few drinks. It is located close to Hotel Cambodiana, on the river front. It is upstairs to Cafe Society.

Location. Kindness of the Staff. Rooms.

French restaurant was not good and expansive. Improve the quality and the quantity of the restaurants.

We had a great time and a pleasant stay at the Hotel... The Business Floor is very nice and the staff efficient...The location near the riverside is great and the rooms very nice...The Breakfast downstairs was good and much better than at the Business floor...We was also satisfied with the parking with an easy access to the Hotel...

Good hotel, but overpriced. Guest Rating: 8

Location by the river, wonderful wine shop in the lobby, very good service in the business centre. Nice restaurant.

Old, a bit worn-out.

The rooms were OK, but did not meet the 4 star standard. The restaurant was fine, very good breakfast buffet. A lot of happenings going on in the hotel (weddings, conferences, ballroom dance etc. so it was a living hotel) The pool area could have been a lot better - it certainly has potential, but for now it was a bit too old. The worst experience was the prices for food and drinks in the hotel - they were like highest European prices, and the overall standard could not defend these prices. Gym was good.

Good and quiet downtown location with an excellent view of the river from the rooms as well as the swimming pool. The friendly, helpful staff provide good service.

Smoking in public areas is not only unhealthy and disgusting but also not common in other comparable international hotels.

The Cambodiana's location is a short walk to the downtown banking, restaurants, museum and temples. The rooms all face the river and are peaceful and quiet. The hotel breakfast buffet has a good selection and is of good quality. The swimming pool area is open and faces the river which gives it a nice feel. Smoking in public areas is disgusting and degrades the hotel quality.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A short walk to all downtown facilities as well as to the National Museum and Temples.

Upper scale hotel with gym, pool, and spa.

needs updating.

This is one of the nicer hotels a couple blocks past the main backpacker strip of Phnom Penh. Nice rooms and great breakfast buffet; however, the hotel needs updating. The decor is old, and for the price, I was expecting a bit more. You can find a much fancier hotel for much cheaper in Siem Reap. The gym was a nice addition, as was the pool. Easy walk to the main backpacker area where you can find restaurants and bars, so don't let the tuk tuk drivers get ya!

Restaurant Tip : The food at the one and only Mexican restaurant is good, but don't expect to get full off of anything!

Established 5 star hotel away from the noise & bustle

Old buildings in need of fresh renovation. Food selection in breakfast buffet overwhelmingly European leaving little choice for Asian traveller

Hotel rooms are big but most rooms come with partially blocked view of river front. Restaurant pricey at European prices, not much of a choice, better choices available if one is willing to take 10 minute ride by tuk-tuk to riverside cafes many along the river front nearby

Good location: near the river, and not far from the Royal Palace

Expensive prices for drinks.

It is an excellent hotel near the Mekong river and it is easy to walk to the Royal Palace. You need a taxi or tuck tuck to go to the city center. The staff was very friendly. The room (mekong deluxe room) was very clean, huge and with a nice view on the city. We appreciate the complimentary airport transfert. The swimmingpool along the river was fantastic with free towels. There was a good buffet for dinner (great choice of different dishes). We would surely stay once again in this hotel.

Car taxis cannot be stopped on the street. These are available at the airport but have to be arranged elsewhere. The hotel has its own taxi service charging $12 to the airport, compared to $9 from it. There are a group of motorcycle taxis operating from just outside the hotel. These all have contracts with cars, who can take you to the airport or around the city at much less than the hotel charges. There are now many samlors (3-wheeled taxis) if you don't feel safe using the motorcycles. Do not bother changing any money for Cambodian currency as everybody uses $us, and the only time you see Cambodian currency is if you need change of less than $1 - coins are not used. There are a number of nice restaurants along the quayside, about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. My favorite is the ponlok - a seafood restaurant - more expensive than most, but they often throw in a massage at the table before you leave. Many of these restaurants have long happy hours on drinks from late afternoon. Also you can look across the river and watch the sun go down as you enjoy a meal or drink.

Shopping Tip : Go to Toul Tom Pom Market for silk/satin clothes, wooden handicrafts, including Jewelry boxes inlaid with mother of pearl and much more. But don't forget to bargain and remember that if you buy multiples of an item you should be offered a substantial discount off the original single price. Pick up DVDs for $1.5 each. Don't go to the fruit and meat section if you are squeamish - you might not eat again until you leave Cambodia!

location, atmosphere

upkeep

I first visited the Cambodiana in 1993 and have been back often. The location on the river is great, the rooms seem to need a makeover at this point, and the hallways could be cleaner. The breakfast is good, as is the coffee shop. The bakery is a good value. The swimming pool is nice. It's hard to beat the Cambodiana for dollar value.
