This is the sister to Diamond II which has a better location but smaller rooms. As a business traveler I prefer this hotel when I have sightseeing friends on a budget I choose the Diamond II for location. Diamond has an adequate restaurant and a good bar but is close to other restaurants like the roof top dining next door or a fancy bar across the street or a Japanese restaurant south on the same block. 3 or 4 Korean restaurants on this block. The one downside to some might be the many massage parlors on this street as well. But some offer good legitimate massage. Close a couple of parks and Diamond Island.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Diamond Island golf range and pool. If you are into that.

I just stayed at Phnom Penh for one night and took bus to Siem Reap the next day, I didn't really visit PP, so no comments on its location. The room is dark and hard to read. It doesn't seem very clean neither. The room is quite small though the bathroom is relatively big. There was a bath tub but I still chose showering.

a good hotel with friendly staff
clean, simple, value priced
7.3
this hotel is okay, and budget friendly. the restaurant is okay, and the happy hour is fairly priced. I've stayed here 3 different years, and the hotel and staff have always been pleasant. To improve, the hotel mgmt should tackle the problem of occasional foul aromas in the bathroom in the lobby.

entirely adequate hotel, and a great price
friendly staff. mgr and staff speak english. clean and neat.
6.7
i've stayed here many nights over the last two years, and each stay was pleasant. like most buildings in pp you might find an unpleasant musty aroma in some of the bathrooms, especially down in the restaurant, but overall i have no serious complaints, and the staff personnel are really nice.

friendliest staff in PP, and the hotel is clean
7.3
i think we all just want a clean, reasonably priced hotel to enjoy a good nights sleep, and enjoy a friendly and helpful staff. dp gives you all of that, however, there are some caveats. i've stayed there many times, but i discovered these important strategies to improve the dp experience: try to insist on a room away from the windows. some businesses start up early arounds the hotel so you do not want to be near the street to hear the traffic honking, nor the furniture company drilling, etc. also, check your bathroom as soon as you enter. if you find a foul aroma ask for another room. some stink, yet others are fine.
Nightlife Tip:
pontoon and heart of darkness

Quiet and clean hotel
Convenient & confortable staying
8
This hotel is located in a sub-road in the city center. Very easy to access to most of the interesting and well knows places such as Naga world hotel and Pub Street. From hotel to Pub Street, there are many tuk-tuk and motorbike taxi which properly will cost you USD2.00 for a tuk-tuk and USD 0.75 for a motorbike taxi.
Downstairs is a restaurant, they are selling the western foods combined with the local dishes. Next doors of the hotel you can find Japanese, Korean and Chinese restaurants as well, what can I say, it is convenient to settle all your 3 daily meals.
If you are looking a good and quite rest during the night time and easy to access most of the interesting places in Phnom Penh city with affordable and reasonable price, this is the hotel that you are looking for.
