clean room and lots of room. full kitchen. nice pool/backyard area.
no flat screen? poor choice of colors.
the hotel is located in a good area of phenom phen right by the river. only downside is the decor of the room...no flat screen and brown EVERYTHING. otherwise, the pool was nice, backyard area pleasant, the breakfast was tasty, and the staff was helpful. i would probably stay here again on my next trip.
Restaurant Tip : k-west restaurant down the road has a great burger.

Very good location. Very clean and comfortable.
None really but the water in the shower didn't wasn't that hot.
Perfect for a 2 night sightseeing trip to the capital. Great location on the river edge and despite a gaggle of tuk tuks waiting at the exit, the Palace, National Museum and lovely restaurants are a short walk along the river. Staff were polite and helpful and the hearty breakfast selection, set us up well for the day.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : For great food try the Foriegn Correspondents Club (FCC) and Pacharan for Spanish Tapas - both within walking distance from Himawari.

Friendly staff, very responsive in person, willing to keep trying until you get what you want. Better business center/library than comparable Asian hotels. Good sized rooms, very clean and quiet, with a good amount of storage space, kitchen supplied with everything but the food. Balcony overlooking the Mekong, promenade along the river, decent pool. A lot of glass walls gave an airy feel to the place.
Restaurant not good value for money when not eating breakfast or dinner buffet (the latter more meager than the former, and the menu offerings decent while feeling limited). Staff slightly difficult to raise on the room phones. Wireless internet as yet unavailable in room, though a cable was supplied promptly.
Unventilated bathroom, also broad shelf around bath allowed water out onto floor repeatedly.
Disliked the open air lobby and open halls above, partly out of concern for security (though a security guard was posted by the room key-operated elevator at all times I passed by), partly out of desire to avoid the humidity.
After a few days in a Sihanoukville dive this was a welcome relief but not quite the level of luxury one might expect. Yet most everything worked and the staff (housekeeping and restaurant in particular) were v friendly and eager to please. Reception staff slightly aloof but did not impair communication or service. Eat out if you can unless you crave a quiet chilled room in which to eat a burger and ice cream. 35 minutes to the airport in 6pm weekend traffic fyi, and the cost is now $12 via Camry.

beautifully appointed suite which was kept spotlessly clean by friendly hotel staff. breakfasts and lunches in the diningroom were delicious and surrounds very pleasant.
view from suite not that great, brick walls of adjacent buildings. pool area not that inviting. other guests stayed on computers for a long time and waiting was very frustating..
overall our stay at the himawari was very comfortable. the staff are very friendly and helpful. we loved the spacious suite and the decor. lunch in the dining room was a real treat, with several delicious dishes as well as desserts and drinks. our only disappointment was the pool area, as it is pretty bare and has no surrounding garden. the location is great and we were able to get to all amenities, shops, restaurants in a short tuk-tuk ride. many thanks to all the staff at himawari who made our stay so enjoyable.in.
Hotel Feature Tip : the smorgasbord lunch at himawari is not to be missed. great value for money and beautifully prepared and presented dishes. unlimited beer and wine is also a bonus.

Hot spa,great pool. Location.
took us a long time to decide where to stay in PNH esp with a 4yr and 2 yr old but glad we stayed here even thou for Cambodia it was expensive. Hot spa was excellent with kids and nice pool. Suite was spacious, staff courteous. Breakfast was ok, Good location.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Sovanna Plumn Theatre Fri & Sat 7.30pm has a 1 hr shadow pupperty show with Traditional khmer music it was very enjoyable. USD5 per adult. Theeatre also runs a workshop to make your own puppets. Just grab a tuktuk there.

Large spacious clean rooms.Excellent breakfast buffet and efficient room service .Good service of Tuk /Tuk and taxis and easy walk to shopping and casino etc.Great views of the river from terrcae bar.pool good and fitness centre good Easily recognised by all taxis and tuk tuk drivers used
A/C units are old style wall Daikin units which took a while to understand and work(about 15 mins) but once left on permanenetly kept room cool for duration of accomodation period
Himawari Hotel provided good value at approximately 85USD per night. It is not a budget hotel and is more positioned at 4 star with kitchen facilities etc but good security ,large rooms well appointed furnishings and bathroom was large.Rooms are positioned around an inetranal open gardened square and at only 5 stories it displayed the open verandah style Asia home while providing natural light to the rooms .Rooms are built solidly so very little in fact no noise from adjoing rooms and the A/C improved once the daikin wall mounts were left on.
It provides agood base to whil;e away day watcvching the river traffic from the terrace bar and foyer asw ella s very easy access to temples ,palace and casin and as previoulsy advised river.
An enjoyable stay
Hotel Feature Tip : Keep A/C on with spare key

Everything was GREAT! The hotel was beyond what I had expected. They even upgraded me to the executive 2 bedroom suite for free because they were fully booked. Staff was really nice, and the security was exceptional for Cambodia. Location is great as well.
This is difficult (I want to say none) maybe they could improve the breakfast a little(?)
I have stayed in many different hotels of all ranges in many different countries. This was by far one of the best ones I have stayed in. I highly recommend it for anyone. The price is good for what you get as well. Staff is always helpful and even the security could speak enough english to communicate with. I had a great time here.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you are interested in casinos, there is one nearby (NagaWorld) the dealers and staff are nicer than any other casinos I've been to. Free food and drinks and the dealers like to joke with you so you don't feel as bad when you lose money. =)

Large rooms, very quiet, nice pool, very good breakfast
Staff at reception not too warm. Pool can be used also by outsiders against fee. A bit far from the
action(10 min. walking).
We enjoyed our stay after we had changed the room
originally given at check in. (Room without view).
Hotel is very good standard for P.Pengh and everything was perfect. Its a bit pricy but its
worth every Dollar. We can highly recommend to
stay there.

Great location
Friendly and attentive Staff
Good pool, gym, breakfast
Nice rooms
No cons - this place was great!
We loved this hotel. It was in a great location by the river and was one of the nicer hotels in Phnom Penh. Very reasonably priced. Close to the Foreign Correspondents Club which is a great place to have a drink while watching the sunset over the river. Staff friendly and competent, pool great, nice rooms, good breakfast - all excellent. Highly recommend this hotel. The rooms had a full kitchen too so would be good for families also.
Travel tip : Good restaurants and bars about 500m up the road. The palace is a 5 minute walk away.

Room was spacious, staff were very attentive, pool and jacuzzi were well kept, view of river was spectacular.
Tiles near the jacuzzi are very slippery.
A very nice hotel right on the junction of the rivers, with a spectacular view of the boat traffic. Breakfast was very good. The room was very spacious, and the staff were attentive to every request. They had a great BBQ buffet in the Oyster Bar every evening. Very close to the royal palace and restaurant row along the Tonle Sap. Very little noise from the street.
Restaurant Tip : The Foreign Correspondents Club (FCC), about one kilometer up the road, is a charming place for a relaxing drink.

Location is excellent - on the river, and close to museums and restaurants. Staff is friendly and helpful (although sometimes reception personnel are hard to find).
Bed is extremely hard - hotel should look into mattress toppers.
The Himawari Hotel is attractive and well-maintained. Its excellent location along the river is close to museums, restaurants, and markets. The lawn overlooking the river is great for unwinding with a beer as the sun sets.
If I were to pick one complaint, it would be that the bed is hard as a board. It's so hard that it interferes with getting a decent night's rest. Hotels of the caliber that the Himawari aspires to have recognized that hard beds are bad for business - they make guests unhappy. The Himawari should put mattress toppers (like Westin uses) on its shopping list.

Very professional and helpful staff - great for organizing transport to killing fields and around town.
Well made, comfortable rooms, some with good views of the river.
worth the price paid for them.
Nothing in particular - we had a very pleasant stay. If anything, the breakfast could have had a little bit more variety.
We stayed at Himawari with a group of 7 people - in 3 separate rooms. The rooms were very comfortable and my room had a good view of the river from the balcony. Although on the expensive side, the rooms were probably worth what we paid as they were very comfortable, had safes, a tv in the living room and each bedroom, big beds and plenty of floor space. The bathrooms were also very well made, and spacious, and our one even had a combination washer/dryer!! Altogether, a good experience and a good way to escape the hustle and bustle of KL. The breakfast probably wasn't all that great, but it was nice enough.

Hotel very clean and everything you need is there.
Staff speak very little english.
This hotel is situated about a mile from the town and should cost you about a dollor each in a tuk tuk to get into town. The restaurant is very nice and presented well. Breakfast is a delight. The gym and fittnes classes are the best i have come accross in a hotel. We travelled all over canmbodia and found this the cheapest hotel for having your clothes dry cleaned. All in all I would stay at this hotel again as its got everything you need.
Restaurant Tip : Eat at the bistro oppersite the metro bar. Best food in cambodia
