Lovely rooms, very attentive staff
Hotel was lovely, and very central to the city sights, all the staff were very helpful and obliging. I had a room with no window, which was really no problem at all. My room was close to the elavator and stairs, so I could hear people coming up each level, but was not a problem.
The restaurant was very nice and the food was good, small range but still enough

clean, friendly staff, great value for money.
More information brochures/phamplets can be placed at the lobby.
More lightings could be installed on the pathway to the room
Eventhough we've seen the pictures of the hotel in the internet, we're still not sure of how this hotel would be (some look good in pictures only). However, as we approached the hotel with our tut-tut, we were pleasantly surprised with the marvelous 'new' hotel outlook (compared to many others along the way to Cara)
We were received and greeted well by the doorman. The lobby is a little bit small but neat and the reception was very friendly. However, more information phamplets/brochures can be placed at the lobby.
Our room is on the third floor. The pathway from the elevator to the room is narrow and we have to meneuver several turns. The room we booked is a little bit small with no windows. Its clean with satellite TV, fridge and big bathroom. The room is located right in the middle of the 3rd floor but a great advantage if you travel all day and expect a good night sleep. The room is insulated by the surrounding rooms so NO nightclub or traffic noise.
Yes, breakfast is included! The spread, taste and cleanliness of the restaurant were GOOD.
Shopping Tip : If you're looking for good jewelery (colored precious and semi precious stones) Central market (right at the centre) is your best choice. You need to haggle on the price though (the workmanship is a little bit rough). For better quality workmanship, Russian market is best but the price is a bit more expensive.

Good breakfast buffet, decent bed, room safe, next to US embassy
Location - right next door to several clubs, loud street, far to the north of everything, small room
The Cara Hotel was just "ok" - nothing fantastic but not too horrible either. Asthetically, the hotel was gorgeous on the outside and inside while the rooms weren't too bad either. The biggest complaint is that you are surrounded on two sides by very loud clubs. If you are into clubbing, good place to stay because it's within stumbling block of the hotel. If you try to go to sleep by 11 pm, good luck sleeping through the constant boom of club music. Also, the last night we were there, there was a shooting. No one got hurt but we were definitely awakened by gunshot. Also in an out of the way location by the US and British embassy up to the north. at least a 10 minute tuktuk ride to anywhere fun. Overall, if you wanted to stay close to the Brit or US embassy, good place to stay. If you'd rather be close to the center, go somewhere else. Good price but not worth the loud music and yucky location.

LOCATION: NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ACTION, BUT A FEW MINUTES BY TUK-TUK FROM THE CITY CENTER
NICE INTERIOR, LARGE BALCONIES, Friendly staff
Loud club across street open 24/7. Ask for a room facing away from the "Emerald" club.
Great hotel with many amenities and a friendly staff. The value is good, considering that some places are pretty crummy around P.P. This place rocks -I've stayed here twice and would again!

Clean rooms & big balcony.
located over a noisy nightclub which didn't endn til 3 am. The walls were extremely thin allowing you to hear the music or people in the hall or the adjacent rooms. The staff had poor english and the breakfast was basic. Also, the spa is not located in the hotel if that is one of the reasons for staying here.
Expensive for the standard provided compared to the other 6 hotels we stayed at in Vietnam and CAmbodia.

Balcony.
Free Wifi.
The Tuk Tuk driver Mr John who waits outside the hotel.
Very noisey night clubs opposite & next to hotel.
Very small and dark shower rooms.
Smelly and weak air cons.
My wife and I were very disappointed with the Cara. The rooms are an average size but are let down by a small dark shower room. The aircons in the rooms are very smelly and need are in need of repair.
Breakfast is very limited.
There are 2 night clubs opposite and next door to the hotel which are very noisey till 3am or later.
The location is poor. We found we needed to take a tuk tuk to go anywhere of interest.
There are definately far better hotels in this price range.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Mr John the Tuk Tuk driver who waits outside the hotel is very good and doesn't rip you off.

Pleasant and helpful staff, good location.Fee Internet area on the Mezzanine level of the hotel.A free taxi service from the Hotel to the Airport is provided by the Hotel.
Noise levels, basic rooms.
Hotel is quite noisy especially in the rooms overlooking the frontage street, this is due to close proximity to Night clubs which blast music at about 1 million decibels into the eary morning hours. The restaurant is OK and the breakfast buffet only "fair" . Rooms are very basic but they are clean. Staff are very pleasant and helpful and changed our room to a side room quickly when we complained about the noise levels. Despite the negatives the hotel is good value for the budget conscious traveler.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Tuk-Tuks are outside the hotel and will take you downtown for around US$3-5. A half day trip to killing fields is around $25. A town tour to Palace, museum,K21 , etc around $15. rates are "negotiable"

Clean, reasonable price, friendly, WiFi, good breakfast, well appointed room, if small and spare.
Windowless rooms are cheaper. The shower had to run for nearly five minutes to heat up.
The hotel is located not far from the river, in a poor neighborhood but one with conveniences. The in-house restaurant is Korean/Japanese, and is well done. The restaurant on the corner opposite is friendly and has good food, but no coffee. The staff is very friendly, the WiFi worked well, and the satellite TV had many English movie channels.

Nice staff, nice Japanese restaurant.
Location is away from the action on the river front but not far in a tuk tuk. The noise from the clubs was shocking!
It is a bit too far to walk to the nicer touristy places on the river front but a tuk tuk should be no more than a dollar.
The room was basic, but not too bad. The problem was the noise from the club outside and a new club is about to open as well.........

quite a distance from the riverside. One has to take the tuk tuk
Our stay was ok. Lobby is clean. Although the hotel is quite far from the riverside, you have to take a tuk tuk everytime you go to the riverside where all the restaurants are., and where the sites are near. The restaurant connected to the hotel is expensive for the kind of food served. Overall, the stay was ok though. The staff friendly. The concierge helpful. If you are on a budget, this is the hotel to go to. It is value for money. However at night, can get pretty noisy, you can hear people running around outside. One great thing, wi fi connection is free.
Hotel Feature Tip : great that the hotel is wi-fi equipped!

Clean & tidy rooms; affordable prices; elegantly designed and decorated. Truly a business class hotel.
Clean and tidy exterior and interiors throughout this hotel. Affordable price and convenient to city centre with ample public transport. Happy, cheerful and helpful hotel employees make my stay wonderful. A truly relax atmosphere at Amara Spa to fully letting-go your stress and nitelife is within the doorsteps of Cara Hotel.

Close to the Riverfront
Clean room
The room had a balcony
Friendly staff
No chairs on the balcony
Sometimes noisy in the hall early in the morning. (hotel staff?) knocking on people's doors waking them.
We stayed 2 nights in hotel Cara. It was a good and clean hotel. The balcony was a bonus. I would recommend this hotel. Next to the hotel was a restaurant.

Location. Needs some serious soundproofing, room serice menu could use some more options.
This was my 2nd stay at Cara. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the rooms are quite clean. Big problem is the night club across the street which is very loud and goes all nite long, very hard to sleep. The noise is a lot to deal with, especially since the hotel is not in a central area with bars and restaurants.
