the shower was cold. there was no towel in the room and i had to ask for one on the second day. the remote control on the tv did not work. my charger would not fit into the wall socket; it kept falling out. tv was extremely small and located high in a corner and was difficult to see. the welcome was not particularly friendly: i was told off for wearing long pants on a hot day.
Travel tip:
This was not a very good room for $20. Look around for better value. I moved after the two days I had booked from Australia.

This hotel was a good find in my opinion. The location was perfect being on a quiet street just off the esplanade. It sits between the streets with late night bars and has a couple of excellent restaurants just across the street. A short walk around the corner and you're in center of Cambodia's best market and just a kilometer up the road is the famous Central Market. 50 meters the other way and you're on the Esplanade with all of the best food and entertainment that Phnom Penh has to offer.
I liked the staff here very much. They were bothy relaxed and professional. Only drawback is the lack of elevator. I had a top floor room and wouldn't swap it anything but it may not be for you.
Restaurant Tip:
Little restaurant across the road called Dragon (something) does the best chicken amok, 75c beers and $1.50 G&Ts. Family run, it's a great hangout. There were people eating there who knew their food!

The hotel is a basic no frills hotel with with a 70s oriental vibe. Very near night life, the central market, river, royal palace and good restaurants serving local cambodian food.

This hotel has four floors an no elevator so that will scare some people away. Breakfast is adeqate at a Restaurant next door included in the tariff if you so choose. The restaurant is also good with service.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Well located to markets, restaurants and bars. This is also a good location to visit the killing fields and Genecide museume. Always ensure that you negotiate Tuk Tuk price. The people are always nice you deal with and also fair. The markets are good to see and you can still get a bargain.
