Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Great atmospheric, colonial experience
Great value for a luxury hotel. Best Breakfast
9.7
After spending 4 weeks travelling around Cambodia, Raffles le Royal was an excellent place to spend out last 2 days before heading off to Vietnam. Lovely old hotel in excellent condition. Staff were really helpful, food was excellent - particularly the breakfast, which was one of the best we've had. Great pool area for relaxation. Would highly recommend staying here, particularly given the rates through Agoda. Better than Singapore Raffles - which is a tourist trap these days.
Only disappointment was not having free wi-fi after having this service provided in-room, all over Cambodia for 4 weeks.... disappointing and such an easy thing to rectify.
Nightlife Tip:
excellent cocktails in the elephant bar for happy hour from 4-8pm, and, unlike raffles in singapore, the singers slings don't come out of a plastic bucket under the bar!

A traquil base in Phnom Penh
Awesome pool, great fitness center, decent location.

Always enjoy Raffles in PP. The city can be a bit crazed and intense and Raffles is the antithesis of that vibe.

Phnom Penh's most historic Hotel
History, ambiance, pool, staff
7.3
Had a great stay at Le Royal and as usual the staff were extremely welcoming and most everything was as expected. Had the Sunday brunch with a bunch of friends and the staff gave us 50% off vouchers to celebrate Father's Day which was a very nice touch. I will make one complaint and that is the internet which is pretty expensive at $3 for 1/2 an hour. I think this sort of things is a bit ridiculous in this day and age and especially when many hotels have free internt.
Restaurant Tip:
Brunch at Metro on the River. Great brunch fare.

Arrived very late past midnight, staff were friendly, courteous even though they couldn't find our agoda booking. They accepted a forwarded email of the agoda confirmation. Great smelling toiletries too.

raffles hotel

Not many hotels live up to the reputations of their advertising material. In this regard I was pleasantly surprised to see that Raffles can achieve a charming 1930s atmosphere of elegance and style. Sometimes I was too hot and bothered to do anything but laze around the hotel and found many interesting distrations. Apart from the twin pools and the Graham Green style bar you can wander around aimlessly looking at antique furniture ,sclpture or 1960s black and white photos of the Kenedy family. I found the staff courteous in paticular the smiling concier who could answer any question honestly and with the aid of a map plan my day to a T.Some should be said about the Tuk Tuk drivers who frequenty
outside the hoteol. They seem to be a law onto themselves, whilst I found the Cambodians farly quiet and freiendly this is nt something that can be said of the Tuk Tuk drivers. I found the best to deal with these tuk tuk people is the avoids like the plaque tha loud mouthed and rude drivers in preference to the more quiet and demure drivers in any case qui8et or loud everydriver will try and take you to the killing fields, bars, girls and whatnot. Gemerally all charges seems to be $3.00 but to my surprise I took a mettered taxi to the riverfront and it was less than $3.00. A very sombre experience was a visit to very non descript school called unit 21 that was used by Pol Pot as a torture centre. Most people are visibly upset and unlike the killing fields all the cells, barbed wire and irons beds are still intact and their to look at. Being a lone traveller and always inquistive I wandered to every corner of the school and in one part looking closed of to the public I could see all the clothing piles up like rubbish crammed into a room- clothes that were clearly belonging to the victims. It is advisable to go to Russian market after this seeing this gruesome school to relieve the tension of such an appaling site.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Walk to American embassy, it is like a bastion.

The hotel is a classic old hotel but with all the modern amenities. The staff are excellent and provide great service. The Elephant Bar is a delightful and classic place for Happy Hour. The live classical music in the evening is wonderful. I would highly reccomend this hotel. Thank you
