It was everything I expected, the perfect base for some serious walking and exploring. Start the day with a good swim, then easy to walk to the river front for breakfast/lunch and sightseeing/shopping. On returning to the hotel lobby it was like coming home. A warm greeting, by name, good air-con and stately surroundings.

The hotel is in a great area, the walk to the boulevard is not too long. It is very beautiful and the rooms are spatious. The service is the best I ever had, at the swimming pool they even offered to clean my sunglasses! Very friendly staff.

Amazing and beautiful hotel
Gorgeous rooms, beautiful pool and the happy hour in the elephant bar is brilliant.

an absolutely fantastic colonial style hotel. from the moment you arrive to when you leave you are treated like a star. the room was lovely and the bed was super comfortable and the room was decorated very tastefully. lots of lovely little touches make it very enjoyable, when they turned my bed down for the night they left a little bedtime story. the pool is fabulous and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. i had a small problem in my room and it was sorted immediately. the concierge were very helpful. the elephant bar was fun and the cocktails are delicious with lots of lovely complimentary snacks.
Restaurant Tip:
You must go to Romdeng restaurant, it is run by a charity that trains street children to work in the restaurant trade and the food is amazing and if you are brave enough you can eat fried tarantulas.
